A question for the Devs [about modeling]

I am part of a new project, just started, and we are a very small team. There are only abou five of us. We have nothing but concepts and sctches, yet we are almost ready to start modeling these. I ask you what modeling stufio is used on this project because we are planning to use CrystalSpace as our graphics engine, and was wondering what software was most compatable.

We have one artist that has extensive experience with 3D Studio Max, and I was hoping this was compatible with the engine. I am only lead of design on our project, but organization has also fallen on our shoulders.

Any and all help with this will be much apreciated

3DSMax, Blender and Maya all work well. Anything that has a CS exporter will be suitable. :)

3dsmax exporter has been improved in the latest days.
Anyway, what it is supported by that exporter is what PS needed to be supported.

If you need something that is not supported by that you have or to switch to Blender, or to add things manually.
CS support is really good, especially if you join #crystalspace on freenode server.


PS artists use 3dsmax, and I have been using that too for my project that uses CS and PS code.
A lot of people use Blender, though, for its free nature.

I think there is an exporter also for Milkshape, but I think it hasn\'t been updated lately.
There are also other valid formats, but you can discover more about it reading CS documentation or asking directly in CS IRC channel.
