[OLD] Screenshots!
« on: June 04, 2005, 10:29:00 pm »
Searched for a screenshot thread... and oddly didn\'t find one!  So, I\'ll post two.  It\'s raining outside and I\'ve nothing better to do, so... here ya go!

Yeah, I know... the pics are really empty, especially the bottom one.  But, they did only take me like 10 minutes to make. :P

If you have screenshots you want to post on the forums, you might as well use this thread. :)

Weird storm!

A VERY weird storm.

For a few seconds during a rainstorm, (UPDATE YOUR CLIENTS TODAY TO SEE RAIN!!!) the world became blue.  Then, it later became red!  This is an unedited picture, besides the text in two corners.

I never got a proper screenshot of it from above, and you wouldnt be able to do it anymore, would take a hell of a long time to mine and transport this much gold now:

Those first two don\'t seem possible at all. Usually I\'m ecstatic about such discoveries, but I\'m a complete skeptic in this case. I don\'t think one screenshot per location, for such an amazing feat, is enough to prove anything. Maybe if you do it again and take at least 20 with different camera angles ;)

It\'s way too easy to edit.

thanks to Zoom on image editing programs, and resize, we see this is actually fake, nice try, had me foold for a minute

as you can see the dpi for the image is a lot higher then the dpi of the kran, which is badly pixelated

the former picture was a closer amount of dpi and is trickier to pick out, but still indeed a fake :)

The pixelation which you point out occurs in any picture with characters that are far away.  The further away it is, the worse it is.  Zoom in on Drey in Ecolem\'s picture, and you see the same thing.  Notice how the area around the figure is pixelated as well- not just the figure.  (Especailly in the second picture on the temple).  If i photoshopped it, only the figure would be pixelated, not the area around it.  Its to do with cal3D, and how it draws the screen, i gather.
Ill go back up tonight, and take pictures of me on the statues from 20 different angles.  Shame i didnt do it earlier, so much damn effort. >_<

There\'s still quite a bit of difference between that and the first shot, but I\'ll move on. Ignoring the fact that the Laanx tower is vertical, and ignoring the fact that it is bottomless if glitched through, and ignoring the fact that pressing keys is no longer enough to make you glitch through walls (though taking screenshots is, I\'ve learned from elsewhere), and ignoring the doubt that even if you manage to glitch through a tower wall, the insides are no longer sticky enough to support hopping up... I don\'t buy it. Especially when this took you, supposedly, 105 minutes, but took hours longer in MB, glitching genius or no.

But I\'ll be waiting for your other screenshots ;)

Yes of course its changed since MB, im obviously not using exactly the same methods as back then am i, else it would have taken alot longer, assuming it still worked, which it dosnt.  Your point about the screenshots is interesting, im going to have to experiment with those.. i hadnt heard about that.

People, it\'s called jpeg fuzz (a reduction in quality from the compression to .jpg format).  It doesn\'t make it any more fake, or real...not that I want to get involved in this.

Confirmed. Though he\'s still being secretive about his methods ;)
