Ok, there are alot of rumors going around; and they are quickly growing in numbers. I\'ve made this thread to answer as many of these as I could, along with have you answer the ones that you know. I\'ll start by addressing some rumors I\'ve heard while playing.

Here is the format of these rumors and answer.

Ok, let me begin.

~Rumor: There is a hells gate (also known as bronze gate) that is told to open up and let out creatures that will bring our destruction.
~Origin: Shalmanesar was the one who told me this one, with many people backing him up.
~Truth: I\'ve yet to seen these gates, but from what I\'ve heard from quite a few people, they have seen these gates and confirm its existance.

~Rumor: There are ways to travel outside of Hydlaa without taking the path through the forest.
~Origin: Stfrn (game master), Rakna, and Sukarie
~Truth: Yes, there is. Many know of ways to get around the rules of the mapping on planeshift and can actually travel outside of the known paths. I myself have traveled on these unknown paths and managed to actually journey UNDER the forest itself.

~Rumor: The Refining of Gold, Platinum, Coal, and Iron ore is now being implimented (used) and we are now allowed to make our own weapons.
~Origin: Many wondering travelers
~Truth: The refinery process is still in testing by the game masters and is not for use by gaming characters as of yet. But soon enough we WILL be able to make our own weapons....given the right knowledge (hint hint)

~Rumor: You are allowed to use the furnace in the other village to refine gold, BUT you need to read from a book to learn how to do this.
~Origin: Many wondering travelers
~Truth: As the last one, you arnt able to use the furnace to refine ore as of yet, but the truth behind the book itself its infact TRUTH!...few of the GMs own these books that will teach you the ways to use the furnace. Doesnt mean you go asking them to see the book, but just know that soon enough we will all have access to the furnace.

~Rumor: There are mushrooms ontop of the statue in the center of hydlaa. Rumor has it that a specific character put them there.
~Origin: Eolius
~Truth: The mushrooms were NOT a product of any specific character, but instead a product of the rain fall that has been occuring in hyldaa recently. I\'m not sure if it is a glitch or not, but they are there from the rain, and they will remain there till a GM gets them down, or helps a player get up there.

Interesting thread, just one question ... is this only meant for clearing some facts up or also as a RPing platform? This is rather important to understand the nature of the rumors in here and provided on here I think.

 I \'ve had my own run-ins with Shalmaneser. The first being yesterday in Kada-el\'s Tavern where he stormed in to interrupt the peaceful conversations with rumours of some guy claiming that the gates of the Stone Labyrinths will open up soon to let numerous creatures out, who will flood the face of Yliakum and bring death and chaos upon it\'s inhabitants.
Not many there bought his story but I was rather intrigued and have learned never to dismiss anything, even if it sounds like a bunch of ramblings from a mad soothsayer.

However a few moments later after I had left the Tavern, I met him again. Only this time he ran at me with his falchions raised yelling \"You will die!\". With that most of his credibility went down the drain as I figured him for a mad fool with more mental problems than a devourer has teeth.

Of course I laughed and shrugged his death threats off as he couldn\'t lift a finger to harm me, since the magic protects me from mad or violent peers.

Thats a pretty good sumary, thanks for the clarification about the smelting books- i knew they existed, but until now i\'d be searching all the libary and anywhere else i could think of to find it.
As for the hells gate, that sounds very unusual, where exactly it is meant to be?

By \"Hell\'s Gate\" I think shenji means the Bronze Doors which give access to the Stone Labyrinths, the place where Yliakum gets much of its food.  Also, according to legend, some adventurers explored deep into the labyrinths and never returned!

(and, with the way the devs use the word \"soon\", all we know is that the wipe will be within the next decade or so... probably)

DaveG, I know from talking to a GM that the only reason that the reset hasnt taken effect yet is that they want to find out as many exploits as they can FIRST, so they can fix them and iliminate any possible exploits after the reset, thats the only reason why we\'re still around.

And as for shal, he may be crazy, but his idea about the labyrinth is as factual as the smelting process in the near future, we must wait though and see how the \"proficy\" goes.

Thank you.  I\'ve been telling this to every \"the wipe makes me scared\" person I see.  They won\'t wipe to fix the \"cheats, exploits, and bugged accounts\" until they get rid of all the causes for the \"cheats, exploits, and bugged accounts\".  The short list is: dead NPC AI, trade glitches, character creation exploits, quest stuff, training errors, vanishing items, and the like.  It\'ll be a bit.  When they do fix this stuff (maybe in December with \"Steel Blue\", or maybe sooner with the crafting update they\'ve been putting off forever) we\'ll all be quite happy, and glad for the needed wipe.

Until the wipe comes, I\'ll probably be spending more time writing my rp story than rping ingame... Oh well.

OMG... I can\'t believe I posted a rumor in the rumor page...  8o   That was dumb.  But, of course you must remember to use the beta/alpha definition of \"next\", meaning \"one of the next\".    

I do expect some big updates before the end of the year.  They\'ve been futzing with the smithing systems for who knows how long, so that\'ll have to be released eventually.
