wisdom not a stat :)
« on: June 10, 2005, 06:26:30 pm »
good thing wisdom is not a stat in game, cuz i just got my wisdom teeth removed...(i\'m stuck at home and bored to death and i can\'t eat real food... so im bored)
i would really suck at that stat now lol...ok this is lame, but like i said im bored.

anyone had this done before? anyone know how much longer my life is gonna suck?  my mouth hurts so bad...
you know how all the comedians on t.v. are always talking about how wonderful vicoden is? well that\'s bull crap... i\'m taking like 8 vicodens a day and they aren\'t doing anything... my mouth feels the same with or without them... yesterday i couldn\'t move my lips or my face because the doctor gave me like...well let me think... 16 shots of anesthesia!(spelling?) i couldn\'t feel anything for like 7 hours... those 7 hourse were fun... but now... vicoden is too weak and impotent...
and i have to gargle salt water 6 times a day... tastes like crap and burns all my little holes in my mouth from getting 16 shots!
and my mouth still hurts, because vicoden is lame and puny...
oh well atleast i don\'t have to do anything important and can just lay around playing video games all day... that\'s fun...
but vicoden sucks

I had my wisdom teeth removed after they appeared on the x-ray I had when I got my orthodontic braces removed. I was under general anaesthesia (US anesthesia), so no shots in the gums :) . The surgeon had to cut some of the jaw bone. Anyway, had to live only on mashed vegetables and ice cream for about a week. Also, had to gargle with mouthwash but it didn\'t sting.
It hurts, that\'s life. (It\'s so easy to say now)
I wish you a speedy recovery. :)

thanks nada.  yeah the salt water doesn\'t really sting... i just feel like complaining because i\'m stuck here in the house doing nothing... and i\'m malnurished from eating only mashed potatoes and applesauce. not that i have anything against applesauce... its just that after you an entire jar of it... well it gets old...
yeah they had to cut my jawbone too.  my surgeon didn\'t seem very... profesional...
first, my nurse had a very thick accent, so i couldn\'t understand hardly anything she said.
she said \"if you start to feel and pain, just blah something i couldn\'t understand\"
i had no idea what to do if the pain killers didn\'t work... kinda made me nervous... ;(
then, the first tooth the doctor cut out must have bled alot or something... because nurses kept coming in the rooma and asking the surgeon to do things for them, and he kept on telling them
\"i kind of need to deal with this PROBLEM right now don\'t i?\" and he kept sending them away... it took him like half an hour to get that first tooth sticthed up...
then after that he just left for like 15 minutes before he went on to the next tooth... i was just sitting in there by myself with the laughing gas... (very fun)
then he came back and sawed the second one off no problem.  but on the third tooth, i guess he decided to go macho man or something, because he tried to yank that one out with his bare hands! i kept thinking to myself, \"use the saw moron...\" after like 10 minutes of yanking and almost breaking my jaw he finally gave up and used the saw...

and yeah, as you can probably see, i\'m really bored...
and malnurished... and vicoden doesn\'t work... X(

Third tooth? You had three wisdom teeth? lol

Anyway, have you tried ice packs? They do help to numb the pain and also help with the puffy cheeks. The surgeon advised me to eat ice cream, it works well too.

Right. Sometimes I ask myself how much more dumb I can get, and it seems I\'ve reached the apex of stupidity.   lol
I\'ll try to put this on the fact that I was under the impression that general anaesthesia was required if you had all 4 removed at once. I hate and dread shots in the gums and what I can say to you (and I mean it) is: thumbs up! You were more courageous than I could ever be. *mutters to himself: \"16 shots... dear me...\"* *makes a small hiccup noise and faints*

but i had laughing gas too, so the first 8 weren\'t as bad as they could have been...

*recovers slowly but is still in a semi-comatose state, a silly smile on his face*
could only feel the first 8 shots... oh my... *steadies himself*
I was glad I was asleep.
Anyway, did you get to keep bits of teeth and jawbone?

Oh, great.  I only skimmed this thread because I\'m getting mine removed in about a month.  I\'m going to get all four removed at once, so general anesthesia for me!
Right now I can see one of \'em popping out through my gumline. o.o;

Got mine removed 8 months ago, apparently I had a rare case and my Wisdom teeth were growing way beneeth it should, (was pushing out my back teeth pretty far) so I had to get sugery on my jawbone. *a Few screams and shots to very sensitive places later* I get back home with most of my mouth ripped apart and have to endure two and a half weeks of resting.  This included the first 2 days my mouth ruptured and spewed out a lot of blood and finally clotted. oh and I have a scar in my gums.

THANK YOU ORAL CARE!  X(

resistance is futile! no amount of pain killers can save you!
man that is so not fair why couldn\'t i get general anesthesia?
freaking 16 shots... so lame... i got all 4 removed... i think my doctor was hogging all the general anesthesia himself...

hey has anyone had laughing gas before? because they gave me that to try to numb my mouth before my 16 SHOTS (btw it didn\'t work) and every once in a while, if i breathed in deeply, the little nose piece would run out of air and i had to breathe through my mouth... it was like trying to breathe through a snorkeling mask you know... you can\'t breathe in cuz there is no air... i think it might of been because they can only give me a certain amount of gas per breath or something maybe... so the gas would cut off if i breathed in to deeply... i almost suffocated before i remembered i could breathe through my mouth... scared the crap out of me...

also... i think the laughing gas made me lose control of my legs... because after my mouth went numb i wasn\'t really scared anymore because there was no way i could feel anything... but my legs kept shaking like crazy.  the doctor probably thought i was insane (well that\'s o.k. the feeling is mutual) and he kept asking me if he was hurting me... it was quite embarrasing... i felt like a scared little kid... even though i wasn\'t scared... ;)

really though, the worst part was after the doctor finished stitching up one of my holes in my mouth, the idiot sat the needle down on my hand.  i have a big gash in the back of my hand now where the needle dug into it... that guy was so stupid... I DIDNT HAVE ANESTHESIA IN MY HAND! although i was so messed up on that laughing gas i didnt really care that much till later...

my poor little brother got his removed too on the same day by the same doctor.  i don\'t think they gave him enough anesthesia because he almost died on the way to the pharmacist to get our vicoden.  he only got 2 removed though, so now he feels great taking just one vicoden at a time... he\'s out bowling with his friends right now... seriously, he really is bowling... wierd 8o

i think i\'m about to pass out... applesauce is malnurishing me...  XP

edit: slow posting....
man i feel bad for you sarrow... mine sure wasn\'t that bad... it only took the first day and about 15 gauze thingies for the bleeding to stop... hopefully i won\'t have scarring...

why do i even need the stupid things gone? what have they ever done to me? just because my mom had a bad experience with them as an adult... i\'m gonna be so freaking angry when i grow up to find out that having your wisdom teeth out like increases your risks to get cancer or something...
