won't clear screen between frames

when I load my game, it seems to be working well, until it has that sign that says \"welcome to planeshift\". insted of appearing to move down, it doesn\'t clear the screen between frames, so it looks weird. i have everything updated, and also it doesnt look nice. it has a plain black backround instead of a picture.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT\'S WRONG WITH IT?
(and how to fix it?)

Though I have been told that MACs perform roughly twice as good as a PC at the same clock speed (thus similar to AMDs \"+\" naming scheme), I feel you are on the low side of RAm and CPU speed.
This issue you are describing has some resemblance to one that was about a home-compiled CVS version of the client, which was lacking the actual art files. Thus, maybe your installation is broken, or maybe the MAC installer isn\'t working right ATM?
