System Requirement questions

Okay. ive been wanting to play this game for awhile but i had a 4mb video card with no direct3d/opengl support so i finally saved enough money and my shiny new ATI Radeon 9200 SE (64mb) is on the way to my house =P

what i was asking is i saw that 256mb of ram would run poorly. is there anyway to lower detail or something to get it to play at a decent rate with 160.0mb of RAM?

yes my computer sucks.. but hey. the graphics cards gunna rock now =P

btw i also saw that its recommended 600Mhz processor my friends been playing on his 450Mhz processor. he says it runs fine.

Well, if the game runs badly for you, I would suggest to either:
A. Reduce the resolution and screen depth (Most cost effective solution IMHO ^^)
B. Buy more memory for your compy  (Not the most cost effective solution)

Other than that, you should be fine, Planeshift doesn\'t need shiny new video cards yet :)

It seems that vertex buffering \"on\" helps a bit on performance, but honestly i checked and didn\'t notice any significant gain in performance.

160mb RAM would struggle, very badly. RAM is the most important requirement for PS.


How do you get 160mb anyway?

Hmz looks like he is either mistaken or he has 128 mb with 32 mb module. ;)
Anyway, you may also try to set adaptive camera settings and turn off FSAA
in your graphics card driver settings (Nvidia has a nice aplication to do it on
Windows, I don\'t know if Radeon does).
