Nightrogues OT Art Thread
« on: June 13, 2005, 03:01:05 am »
This is just a collection of some 3d art i have done in the past. Please note that some of these are the equivelant of a \"quick doodle\" eg. low quality pics that i did during class etc, while others are around three or more years old so they were made while i was still figuring out 3ds Max\'s quirks, so please don\'t give me any criticism for their \"not-goodness\" unless it\'s relatively constructive.

Heh, I was considering submitting this little guy to LWoW as a kobold-esque creature, but decided against it, due to his lack of a character rig.

This last one is a conversion of this sketch;

which my friend did, into a 3d model, at his request.

Thanks for taking a look, and again, please dont be too hard on me.

I like it quite a bit, heh, you\'re better than I would be with 3D programs.
Nice job overall!
Keep up the work!

Aah, what the hell. I might as well add my on-topic pics, though they have their own threads in the Fan Art forum.

P.S: Thanks darkblade :)

Wow, the OT pics are nice. With some of them, you can tell that they are unpolished, but they\'re still amazing. You really have some serious talent. Don\'t waste it! (---> Join the PS team ;) ).

This is a loading/menu screen for DualZone, a game me and a friend are making. I had to butcher it a bit to get it under a megabyte, but the basics are still there. Just picture it bigger, higher res and less jerky and tell me what you think.  ;)

To make it a bit easier to imagine it at full detail, heres a high-res still shot.

P.S: The ship is the Shard, still my signature fighter, and one of my favorites. There\'s what WAS a detailed pic above, but ImageShack has been very cruel to it :( .

P.P.S: Thx everyone who posted here! :) .

Very nice work. What bothers me is the flammable sticker on the oil tank. Would really anyone make it that big? The rail to the plane is odd too - fenceless, strangely sized and not even allowing good transport, since it ends before the craft.

Well ive made some fairly significant changes to it, mostly because i realized everything was out of proportion to the fighter. Its a lot bigger than it looked in that pic. I ended up getting rid of the flammable sticker entirely, as when i put it in perspective you could barely see it anyway. Same story with the original floor texture.

Theres a closeup of the marine guarding the ramp here:

No way im going to make another animated version until im absolutely sure its finished. It takes too long to render. Four minutes per frame X 40 Frames = 2 hours and 40 minutes. 8o
