I think there\'s a real conflict of colors in that one. Although the Arcane Order specializes in the differently colored ways of magic, logos generally have a unifying color theme that is pleasing to the eye. The purple of the main text and light blue of the supporting text isn\'t a good idea - either use true analogous colors, or something complementary, as right now this creates an unnecessary tension. Make sure the text stands out a decent amount from the background, too. There are areas where the current purple blends too much into the cloudy bg. I would also recommend staying away from the \"plastic wrap\" look of the text, as it is usually an incorrect way of pointing out the direction of the lightsource. At least here, the light seems inconsistent.
That background could work if you fix up the text some, but currently it\'s a distraction. Personally I think the former one had better qualities, though it could use some work too.
