Simple request: Mouse mask removal option
« on: June 20, 2005, 12:51:36 am »
Hello
Could you guys please put in an option to remove the yellow mouse mask? The mouse moves really slowly with it (especially when the game is for example loading a new section or for other reasons taking a lot of cpu), plus I got the Crystal Xcursors mouse theme installed, and I prefer it\'s design  ;)
Shouldn\'t be too hard to implement, as it\'s a minor change. Thanks in advance. Oh, and the game\'s getting better and better. Love it, Atomic Blue  :]
Keep on the good work  8)

go into your planeshift folder, find the mouse mask, make a backup somewhere else and delete it. if you have no mouse, get that backup and put it back into the origional folder. easy enough right?

Interesting idea Taser, but it left me without a mouse icon. One could of course move a differnt icon into the gui/normal.png and /skins/gui/normal.png, but that would be replaced when you update like any other mod.

btw, this was asked on the BT already: http://planeshift3d.com/bugtracker/bug.php?op=show&bugid=629&pos=17

Well, you can easily prevent the updater from replacing files by making them readonly in the file system.

On the topic of mouse: I think the mouse cursor should vanish when you use the keyboard. I find it annoying to have a mouse curser float around in the world and find myself shoving it to an edge of the screen very often. It should just vanish when the keyboard is used and reappear when the mouse is used.

Doing that still wouldn\'t solve the problem of a slow moving mouse when the computer is under heavy load.
And I like your idea, Seytra. There should also be an option for that. 8)
