\"Hey! There\'s another one!\"
Seanir did not recognize the words at first. At first they had no meaning. He was lost in darkness, and at peace. He heard sounds, coming closer, but he did not care. He was nothing. He was dead and cold. Only... he felt warm.
Then he felt the pain.
Doubt found it\'s way down through the intricate mazes of his mind. Was he really dead? He felt hands going through his clothes, searching for something. Finding something. Instinctivly he lashed out and grabbed one of the looter\'s limbs. He heard a startled scream of fear - or was it two? The world instantly became real, and as his focus increased, so did the pain.
He was not dead, he was lying down on a bed of stone. Slowly he opened his eyes. The arm he was holding was soft and pink, and it\'s hand was clenched around something. Something... of his? Seanir stared at it, trying to see through the flesh, blood and bone if only he concentrated enough.
\"Uh... Sorry lad... I thought you were dead\" the voice said from above Seanir\'s field of view, but he just kept his eyes fixed on the hand. He tried pressing harder to make the hand drop what was in it, but it seemed to have no effect.
\"Do you... want me to drop it?\" the voice said carefully.
\"Yes\", another voice said; a harsh and grinding voice.
\"All right. Let\'s do it like this\", the first voice said. \"I\'ll let go of this thing and you\'ll let go of me. Deal?\"
\"No\", the other voice said, and Seanir now identified it as his own. Why \"no\" had been such a given answer he was not sure of. It felt important somehow to hold on to this arm.
\"Hey! If you don\'t let go of me, I\'ll chop that arm off!\" the first voice said angryly.
\"I thought so to\", Seanir said and finally looked up at the face of the looter. He could see him clearly in the dark. It was a face like any other.
\"W...wha..?\" the man said confused. \"Are you crazy? Let go of me!\" The man started struggling against Seanir\'s grip and Seanir let go. The man fell backwards into the dirty water of... of what? It was some kind of man-made tunnel. Slowly Seanir rose to his feet and examined the wall closely. It was real.
\"I thought I was dead\", Seanir said with his back turned to the man and he heard his muttering as he got up from the water.
\"You know, you do look like a corpse\", the man said, trying quite unsucsessfully to brush off the filth from the water. Seanir turned to the man, but said nothing. There was something calling to him, urging him to focus. Yes... this man had something that belonged to him; It was something that mattered. Seanir\'s eyes darkened.
That was the only warning that the man got.
