Where to start?
« on: June 22, 2005, 09:49:18 pm »
Ok I created a character and log in but than what?  I didn\'t see any inventory.  Their is no guide.  And the player guide doesn\'t even state where to start just tells you the basic information skills, combat, ect but now where to start.  What to do first.. to even start.  I ran around and for one can\'t tell npc\'s from pc\'s.. they all seem to look alike nothing to distinguish them so I don\'t even know if I am clicking on a player or an npc.  No response from any of them to the only thing I did find was a merchant.  So why is their no how to get started guide?

As this is a roleplaying game primarily, you could begin to roleplay and see who answers. Even if to yourself. Or you could go to the Help tab of your chat window (I really hope you saw it) and asked for some tips in-game. NPC names are in a light blue, by the way, and player names are in green. The inventory could have been extremely easily found if you tried clicking on any of the buttons in your top menu - a good choice for a beginning understanding of controls.

As for a beginning in general, besides roleplaying, the usual piece of advice is to wander down into the sewers (there is an entrance near the library and behind the tavern) and try a hand (or two) at killing rats for their hides and eyes. These can be sold to Harnquist, who makes his residence by the blacksmith\'s building, and who is one of the weapon merchants. Or you could buy a pick from him and try mining, keeping in mind that it is a slow and frustrating process at the moment.

This is pretty much it, and welcome :)
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.
