When I play the game I cant see other peoples names or the npc names they are just white boxes with nothing inside.

Make sure your game client, as well as your graphics cards drivers, are updated. What kind of card are you using, also?

update1: ive also changed the setup options to every possible choice

update2: OMG it worked i took the sound off and it worked!!! but as soon as my character and i logged in it gave me the meesage again OH man!!

update3: YAY ive played game 4 15 mins and then message came up even though game had serius lag in it.

knightofra, I think Karyuu was replying to demon_54, whose problem was related to the labels (for which it is probably about the graphic card with not updated drivers).

Your problem sounds more like a crash related to the sound.
If you have crashes of other kind, can you try to understand what is that trigger the crash, like for example, if you are doing a specific action and then it crashes?
Furthermore, when you get the pop up window with the request if you want to save a file, can you see what \"numbers\" are associated to that?

If you have lag, can you check how many FPS do you have? You can view that in the information window that by default is on the bottom left of the game window.

As it has been reported already (use search function) this think about white labels was happening to a certain amount of players.

Quoting res, there\'s the solution:

Blind shot: does uncommenting the line \"Video.OpenGL.UseExtension.GL_SGIS_generate_mipmap = false\" (remove the leading semicolon) from data/config/r3dopengl.cfg change anything?


So what you\'ve to do is, basically open the file r3dopengl.cfg with the notepad and remove the \";\" at the line stated. Good luck.

Make sure your client is up to date, if it is, and you have sound disabled as you stated, then more probably those errors are caused by effects, and the solution for them is still unknown.

Thanks Nilrem but there are 2 lines above that with semi colons should I remove those two???

You\'ve only to uncomment that specified line, not the others.
And remember, uncomment isn\'t erase the whole line, but only erase the \";\".
If you erased the whole line i guess if you move the archive from your ps directory and run updater you should get the file in its original form.

Thank you it worked fine I can finally tell whos an NPC and whos not.

NPCs have light blue names, players have light green and then game masters and dark green or yellow names and devs have pinky/red names. (the way i see it, other may argue different.)

ok new problem Sorry guys im a newbie
I got into game and i read manual.
so i go to the quest dude and i ask him the following

me: hello

he responds\"ive already answered you and i will not again\"

me:  i need a quest (or whatever it said in the guide i did say it but it was 4 hours ago and i cant remember)

so the guide says i have to answer him yes that i want the quest

Other then that theres nothing to do in game i dont know where exit of town is and i dont know how 2 get a weapon.  PLZ make the guide easier to understand with stuff that work

For the 4 billionth time the quests are dead till the next big update.  Take a minute to read some of the recent threads in the newbie area.

When standing in the plaza, the spiky Laanx temple is to the north and Harnquist is to the south.  The gate out of town is in the west.

To get a weapon, kill rats in the sewers or warehouse and sell their loot.  Then, buy a weapon from Harnquist or train your melee skill and continue using your fists.

The guide is for the ideal situation, ignoring the bugs.  Most of it is perfectly fine, but you need to read the forums to find out what is working and what is not.
