Planning a Trip to Vegas

My brother has decided to get married in Las Vegas at the end of August, so obviously I\'ll be heading down there.

Anyhow, I\'ve never been there (or the US at all for that matter) so I\'m looking for some advice on extra things to do down there.  I\'ve heard there is a few casinos there  , but I\'m looking for other activities as well.

Depending on how much there is to do and how expensive everything is, I also want to figure out how long I should stay.  (Currently thinking min. 3 days, max 5 or so).

I\'m still a University student so no ridiculously priced things, but I will turn 21 before I get there so the age part shouldn\'t be an issue.

So anyone who has been there/lives near there, your help would be appreciated

Go to Expedia.com for hotel info. You can reservea room for yourself right off the site and expedia usually has discounts.
My family and some friends are going in the middle of august and we got 3 days at ceasars palace for $120 a night. Which is extremely cheap considering the hotel and being vegas.

Edit: Also, one word when you think of vegas (no not casinos) buffets. Get ready for a LOT of buffets. And go to every single one you see. Also, if you\'re with family, avoid starring at the floor...you\'ll know what I mean.
Also, try getting a hotel on the strip to get \"the full vegas experiance\" avoid hotels like Circus Circus that are off the strip because you then lose all the livelyness of vegs. Also, if you\'re off the strip you\'ll have to drive there and find parking etc. in all the 24/7 traffic. But, with a hotel on the strip you can just walk out of the front door, not bother with your car, and you\'ll be in the middle of it all.
Ya, I know a lot about vegas... Well, I should, it\'s a 6 hour driv from LA.

Couple people I was talking to were looking into staying at the Imperial Palace.  Its on the strip, so probobly not a bad place to go.
Buffets sound good... my kind of meals.  I\'ll be sure to take advantage of that

Ya Imperial Palace is exactly the kind of hotel I was talking about. It\'s right on the strip.
