I still think scenes created with that program are beautiful, no matter how easy or difficult the creation may be. Very cool. The latest image makes me think of Scandinavia. Mmmmmmm.
*tugs on Rosmerelmer\'s shirt* Can you make sand dunes? :>

Terragen uses heightmaps.. so does CS
Terragen uses texture mapping perhaps?.. so does CS.
With a little cheapier lightning, and perhaps not-full-so-good water (Allthough you can run watertest and see some nice water indeed) that could be possible in a quite close future.
I for one would really like to hunt teffus in those snowy mountains or swim in the icy water to explore the sunken cave and die of cold or whatever

*grins* If you\'re referring to the desert-at-night image, it doesn\'t -quite- have the appearance of sand dunes. The formations still resemble rocky mounds. Sand dunes have more... \"swiiiish\" and \"swooop\" and and and... ^^ Like
so

i tried so, but i dont have any texture plugins for terragen, and the \'heightpainting\'isnt that detailed.
but if i can make crystal space maps for planeshift with terragen, with the use of heightpainting, that would be cool!

You\'ve been doin some nice ones. I like the one with the frozen water thingy. Thought I\'d try this:

now how does one get water in here?
Yeah I know karyuu, \"If Robin could do that, I shure as hell could do sand dunes\" -__-

I\'m not demanding, really xD;
Those are awesome clouds, Robin. How does the program work, really? Does it render the 2D image alone, or can you import the 3D landscape into another program afterwards, to add to or tweak?

i found a terragen to blender script but it didnt work..
i guess it was to old (2001)
but robinmagus: if you need your water, than you go to water tab and raise the level, just high as you like it. i\'m sure you could also use textures on the terrain
this tutorial is very helpful:
