Arena and Tavern Lost Connection
« on: July 12, 2005, 10:58:16 pm »
I don\'t know if this is just happening to me, but as soon as I enter the tavern or the arena, I lose my connection, also the same happens when I exit.

Its like a disconnecting landmine on the ground :P

But its annoying to wait about 5 minutes for my game window to close and then have to wait 30 seconds for my account to get logged off every time I wanna role-play in the tavern or kill teffys :(

Could it just be the sector-crossing that causes this? I have experienced it many times while traveling to the Arena - however, jumping over the sector line visible on the ground often let me pass unmarked.

I\'ll try what Karryu said, I like sound when I play games, so I guess I\'ll just either jump over it or live with it for the rest of my planeshift life :P

As Drey said, the sound system tends to cause crashes sometimes. Switching it of helps many. But before doing that you could experiment a bit with the settings, try a different sound driver from the pssetup, and try to switch off and on the different classes of sound in game to find if there is a usable compromise.

How on earth can jumping over the sector-border help?
I mean....you\'re still crossing the border, but then in the air, and I don\'t think the bug is going to care about that.
If jumping actually works, please explain why, I\'m curious. :)

Heck, I don\'t know :P Doesn\'t make sense to me either, but it has worked (through several irritating let\'s-test-when-I-crash sessions).

Thom, think of the crash boundary line thingy as a landmine. The landmine doesn\'t go off when you jump over it :P
