Sewers are generally the first place new players are sent to, for rat hunting. There is an entrance behind the tavern (look for a long street by the large red temple, then take the first left, I believe, and continue up the stairs; you\'ll see the building to your left eventually). However the sewers may be overcrowded - at least that\'s the common complaint, so you can try hunting for rats in Ojaveda, which will also be a good exercise in exploration. Instead of taking that first left turn to go to the tavern, continue straight down that main street, heading towards the single large brown tower in the distance. Behind it are the Hydlaa exit gates; go out and continue down the road, then take the left turn at the fork, and continue on the road for several minutes through the green hills to the other city. Once you\'re inside, you\'ll see an entrance to the right to East Oja - take the right, and try to reach the farthest, top-most left corner of that area. You\'ll see a small alley way, I believe, and after a right turn you\'ll descend into the warehouse of rats. They can be looted for their eyes and hides, which sell to merchants.

Whew :>

Don\'t worry about getting lost, though it certainly may take a while to become accustomed to landmarks and directions. You can use /spawn at any time if you are lost, to return to the Hydlaa plaza, but try to avoid using that command for any other purpose. You can also ask for directions in-game, using the Help tab of the chat window.

And good luck!

Seriously, I don\'t consider being lost a valid reason to use /spawn. The only, and I mean only valid reason to use it is being stuck in a bug without /unstick working. If you get lost, you can simply run around, eventually you\'ll either find someone who can point you in the right direction, lead you or find an exit / landmark yourself, even in the sewers.

I agree that there are a lot people who abuse /spawn all the time for even less justifying reasons (laziness), but still this doesn\'t make it any better. I\'m even inclined to wish for GM approval requirement for usage of /spawn.

I think /spawn for newer players who are constantly losing themselves and becoming frustrated at the lack of a map is alright - for a certain period, until they become familiar with the environment. Not everyone who tries the game for the first time comes here with a great amount of patience, but that shouldn\'t push them away in the beginning, not while they are still trying to grasp the scheme of things. People have been asking how to delete characters to create new ones, since they\'ve lost the others - /spawn is a reasonable solution to such dilemmas. Of course the command is planned to be taken out (or was, I\'m not entirely sure if the plans are the same still), but until then it can help new players quite a bit.
