bit torrent not working (i think)
« on: July 18, 2005, 06:11:39 pm »
As plane shift didn\'t work on my pc, I\'m trying it on my laptop.  I downloaded bit torrent, and it looks like it works better than it did on the pc.  However, the planeshift download isn\'t working.  When I went to the log, I got this:

[2005-07-18 12:07:33] \"PlaneShift_CBV0.3.010.exe\" : Problem connecting to tracker -
[2005-07-18 12:09:33] \"PlaneShift_CBV0.3.010.exe\" : Problem connecting to tracker -
[2005-07-18 12:11:33] \"PlaneShift_CBV0.3.010.exe\" : Problem connecting to tracker -

Is there a way to fix this?  I\'ve never used anything like this before so I\'m rather in the dark ;)  Any advice would be great :)

It seems you\'ve got a firewall that closes the 10060 port.
I think BitComet client works well without need to open ports speciffically for it, so if you\'ve trouble with your software firewall or can\'t have acces to the hardware firewall causing the problem, you can give it a try.
Are there any MoonSeekers left?

It *might* have to do with the fact that laanx ( the main seed ) is not responding at the moment.

nm, I am just confused.

Looks like the bittorent tracker is down right now and it used to be available earlier.

You can try http://195.113.15.10:6882/torrents/PlaneShift_CBV0.3.010.exe.torrent?C296A2605B33497CEEB517C9528F6D39771A0AC7

Maybe it will work better but I cannot try myself.

use Azureus it got a system called DHT which allows you to get connected to peers even if the tracker is down

(Im currently seeing ~30 seeds and 10 peers)
