The Yliakum Liberation Front

Who are they?

The Yliakum Liberation Front was created circa 2 months ago by Efflixi Aduro who still remains as the leader today...
After disbanding his long time army Helmora Velsha Efflixi?s life had become dull.  He would often wonder the streets aimlessly just looking for something to do.  With so much time and money on his hands he soon became a regular at the local tavern often becoming so drunk he would have to be booted out.
One day while stumbling home drunk as usual he met a homeless man on the street who followed Efflixi and ask him of his name.  Efflixi would just walk away from this man every single day and say nothing back to this man.  One day as Efflixi was stammering through the streets drunk as usual this same man came after him as usual and insisted to know his name.  This time Efflixi grew tired of the man and turned and attacked him with a powerful blast of magic that would make ashes of any living being yet this man did not even flinch.  As Efflixi stared at the mans eyes in disbelief the man ask once again as if nothing happened,
?Sir, What be you?re name??
Efflixi stood still gazing at his chest where the ball of magic should have hit yet there wasn?t even a scratch.
?Sir??
Efflixi looked up.
?My name is Efflixi Aduro.?
?Ah, as I thought. Please follow me sir.?
The man lead Efflixi to a pitch-black ally but for some strange reason Efflixi was able to easily walk through it with ease and sit right in front of where the man sat down.  Once he sat down the man began talking to Efflixi.  About what, he does not remember, perhaps he was to drunk to be able to remember.
The next morning as Efflixi woke up he found himself in the same ally as he was in with the man.  And sure enough there was the may laying down right beside him, dead, from a wound on his chest which the attack earlier should have caused.  Once he saw this Efflixi gave up drinking once and for all.
Once again with so much time on his hands Efflixi became interested in politics this time.   He met the local Octarch many times at balls and such.  He became a good friend with the local Octarch and would visit often to discuss current issues in politics and slowly became his personal advisor.  Efflixi planned to run for office one day and lead Yliakum to a golden age...
But soon enough Efflixi learned a horrible truth what would go on behind the backs of the public.  A whole new underground government existed consisting of people who looked like normal citizens but were the actual rulers of Yliakum.  These men would simply use the Octarch as a symbol to make the people of Yliakum think they were free and actually had a say in what went on in the government, but, that clearly wasn?t the case.  These men soon found out that the Octarch was leaking Efflixi information and had the Octarch assassinated.  Soon after the murder they had Efflixi marked as the killer of his own friend and had a reward of 1,000,000 Trias put on his head.  Efflixi left the city but was pursued by professional assassins and the occasional civilian looking for a cut of the reward money.  Though Efflixi managed to fend off the assassins with his more then adequate skills in magic, he was still in danger...

In response to this he formed the YLF to remove this corruption from the world and from here we begin the real story...

Our Goal
Our goal is to overthrow the new corrupted government and place in a new one, which is moral and not corrupted.

Alignment
The YLF is not aligned, we are a political organization and we will take no part in battles between ?good? and ?evil? but we will fight people who chose to support the current ?government? and the ?government? its self.  We will not ally with any good or evil aligned guilds.

Hierarchy
Government Class: (For more information concerning the government structure please refer to the government section)

9. President: The ?leader? of the organization. This member has many duty?s including recruitment, keeping all guild related activities on task, signing in new laws, etc.  A new president may be elected in every 6 months  (real lifetime). The past president(s) may re-run if they wish to.

8. Vice President: A chosen senator may be elected into the position of Vice President. A Vice President will have almost all the responsibilities as the president but to a lesser extent.

7.  Senator: The twelve senators are responsible to judge which current laws and motives are just and which aren?t. They (along with both presidents) may remove and add in new laws, which will be done by votes within the senate.  New senators will be elected in from the tribunes when the guild is in need of a new senator.

6. Tribune: A tribune is the voice of the people.  There will be no certain number of tribunes but instead they will be kept in a 10:1 ratio with the citizen, merchant, and guard populations combined. Tribunes must be very active with the public and must constantly know what the public thinks of new laws and treaties.

Arms Class:

5. The SGO: The SGO are the elite warriors of the guild. These people are assigned low profile jobs, which rarely include over 3 people. It is extremely difficult to be an SGO officer as perfection is expected and professionalism is the key to success.  SGO operations will be kept low profile and little information will be released to the public excluding guild members.

4. The Guard: The guard is basically the army of the guild. Though we do prefer non-violent solutions we will use force if needed.  The Guard members are all equal and will be commanded by SGO members during battles.

Merchant Class:

3. Merchant: Merchants are the guild civilians who chose not to take arms but instead chose to work a job and support our guild. They will be expected to donate a certain percentage to our guild vault though we leave it to the merchant to choose exactly how much they wish to give.

Civilian Class:

2. Citizen: Citizens of our guild are our basic population. They are the same as Plebeians but they may vote and run for office.  All Citizens will be expected to donate a percentage of their earning to the guild vault.  Citizens may also be called upon to take arms if warriors run short.

1. Plebian: The first ?class? of the guild is the plebian. Plebeians can not vote or run for office. They cannot join the arms or merchants either. The first thing any plebian must do is apply for citizenship and if they pass they will be promoted to a citizen which gives them much more rights.

Government
Our government is designed so no one person has too much power.  Here is the government structure:
Tribune < Senator < Vice President < President

The Tribune: Tribunes are the people who give word to citizens on what is going on and spread orders. They do not have much work to do but they do get a little project to do for the guild every now and then.  A tribune may run for senator when a senator leaves the guild or moves to another position.
The Senator: The 12 senator?s vote in new laws the president may pass or remove current ones. In an event of a 6-6 tie there will be a public vote.  Senators may NOT remove the president or vice president from office.  But they may vote to initiate a public vote to remove someone from office.  At election time every 6 months senators may chose to run for president or vice president.
The Vice President: The vice president is in charge of knowing what is happening in the guild.  He/She is in charge of almost everything the president is but may not introduce new laws. The Vice will take over as president if the president leaves the guild during his/her term.  The VP may chose to be a senator once his/her term is over.
The President: The president is the leader of the guild.   He/she is in charge of pretty much everything. The president is also in charge of foreign relations with other guilds and declares war.  The president will be held in responsible for almost anything that goes wrong in the guild.  The president may chose to be a senator or a tribune once his/her term is over.
Elections:  A ?Non-Public? election is an election between the senators and senators alone.  A ?Public Election? allows everyone in the guild except plebeians to vote.  An election will  take place every 6 months for a new president and vice president.   Anyone eligible to run may run as many times as they wish and the president and vice president may chose to re-run.

Our Beliefs and Laws
The guild sits on a complicated set of beliefs centered on honesty and integrity. Here are some details on them...

The 7 Deadly sins:
The seven deadly sins are what lead to corruption in the world. Members will not show any of the above. Enough violations will lead to expulsion. These offenses are listed from worst to ?least bad? order. Number one being the worst.

No member of the YLF shall show...
1.Pride: excessive belief in one\'s own abilities.
2.Greed: the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual.
3.Envy: the desire for others\' traits, status, abilities, or situation.
4.Anger: strong feeling of displeasure or hostility.
5.Lust: an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.
6.Gluttony: an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.
7.Sloth: the avoidance of physical or spiritual work.

Other Laws

1.Respect all members of the guild regardless of their position.
2.Respect all members of all other guilds and all Planeshift players including members of enemy guilds.
3.Follow all the rules of Planeshift no hacking, spamming etc.
4.This guild is strictly RP, keep it that way and stay IC whenever in game.
5.In game activity is not yet a concern but being active on our forums is a must.
6.Do not rob or cheat any Planeshift player.
7.Listen to the mods and gms, that?s how it goes. They can ban you, you can?t ban them.
8.Don?t spam in any forum that is Planeshift related.... Stop looking at me...
9.Do not befriend any member who works for the government or is in a guild that supports the government.
10.More laws may be voted in and removed, no rules are permanent.

You do realize that Athens did the same thing and got wooped to hell and back by revolts, right?

(Anarchist voice trying to speaking in a RP way..)
Ahh finnaly something like this.. An Rebel force to overthrow the corrupted Octarch machine that locked up the voices of the oppressed.. New times are rising from the shadows and they cant be stoped. It\'s a proguess, it has started, and it cant be stoped..

The organization has a very good structure and the hability to survive on theyr own (that is needed, as a rebelofrce), I didnt liked too much of the Government Class rank\'s names.. Dont know why, It looks to much \"Octarch\" (hopw you understood what i was trying to mean, or in other ways, what you are fighting against). Anyway, it\'s the frist rebel force in the realm.. And it has all my support.

The Yliakum Liberation Front  !

it remembers me the \"Front de lib?ration des nains de jardins\"  :D  (liberation front of garden\'s dwarves).

Here in France we have a community who thinks it\'s a shame to see that there are still slavery in our high educated society : the garden\'s dwarves (I dunno if its the correct translation : its small statue representing little dwarves with big beard and high coloured clothes) are still forced to decorate our garden and people cant support this anymore : so a community has been created !

FREEDOM for GARDEN\'S DWARVES !!!!!!

When I first saw this it reminded me of that Monty Python thing about the Judaean People\'s Front and what-not. That was pretty funny.

Anyway Efflixi, good work. I haven\'t bothered to read the whole thing, or even check the site. You know what you\'re doing, and the massive amounts of info you\'ve provided proves that it\'s well thought-out. Good job, may you prosper for many years to come. (Too bad it wasn\'t evil, but oh well.)

*stares at efflixi\'s post like a work of art. steps back

i think i like it. im just confused as to whether you are chaotic or lawful. also, what if there is another party trying to set up another form of government but less publicly? if they are discovered and you see that they are going for the same thing you are will you yield, or ask them to yield?

that was all hypothetical of course...

let the rumors fly!

Actually I was very secretive while making the guild. Only Tybalt, Moketh, and Robinmagus actually knew about it, that is unless one of the three leaked out some info... Not that I mind though. :)

It is technicly a guild OOC wise since I will make a guild in game and stuff later but, technicly, for the sake of RP, we are more of a political organization.

@Phinehas: Thanks for the compliments (everyone actually) and I wanted to go evil with new guild but I just couldn\'t figure our anything unique to do if I went evil. So I made this, and as you can see on the site, it\'s been in the works for well over a month.

@dragonfire999: Thanks for the stars. :)

@Easton: Depending on the goals of other organizations aimed to overthrow the government we will vote on weather or not to ally with them. If they seek a moral and just government we will assist them and creat a new system with eachother.

Also, please do not confuse non-aligned with neutral. A nuetral guild takes part in \"good\" and \"evil\". A Non-aligned guild has nothing to do with them what so ever.

Also, we would like to welcome in our new member Ashman to the guild, welcome. *offers Ashman a \"YLF\" button\"

I was talking with a friend about doing this very thing a week or two ago.  I think it would be great for rp.  But on originality im not so sure.  The hierarchy seems too basic.. unless that is what you were going for and the whole seven deadly sins is a bit weird though I like what they are.

I beg to differ. It\'s the other way around, or it can be. Non-aligned does not mean you\'re somehow mystically separated from the alignments, it just means that you can\'t decide or are liable to do anything. Neutral means you\'re selfish and do only what will benefit you personally. No matter whether you are evil or non-aligned your deeds are going to be considered either good, evil, or just selfish. Don\'t deny the truth, embrace it. :P

non-aligned

I find it extremely funny how the alignments work on PS. Or how they don\'t work.
