« on: July 25, 2005, 10:13:33 am »
Gah. And Blah. I did everything exactly as the sticky thread said to do...i just finished downloading the version 10 game aaaaaand low and behold i just start the game up, (where you can hear the first part of the music) and the game crashes. Every time. And the sticky thread said to go and take the music out, in game, but i cant even get INTO the game... help? ^_^

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

...and yes i did search...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

..........please dont tell me i have to install again.........i just spent a good 4 or 5 hours doing the updater and the loading and stuff.....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ahhhh...yes...i went on search again and did this...

Update again (do not check the \"Update all files\" box) and then do the following:
Open up your Planeshift 3D folder in Finder. Navigate to \"data/options/\" and then open \"sound.xml\" in TextEdit.

Change the line that reads

to

Save and quit TextEdit. Then try running Planeshift.

and it still quits...just instead of 5 seconds before quitting, its 10.
*sarcastic* Yay! gah...i need sleep...g\'night...or morning...

Cha0s\'s edit: As Kias and provisionist said, please do not double, triple, or quadruple post. Your posts have been merged.

Hmm, did you use the program to set the bits? That might be causing an issue. Also post your computer stats...might be some info in there. :/

Oh, and you can edit your posts instead of posting multiple times...no real need to do that. :)

I have seen three consecutive posts, but four! Wow. I\'ll have to tell Efflixi about this one.

Anyways, please use the edit button. I suppose I\'ll forgive you since you are new here, but please use the edit button.

Have you followed all the directions chaOs gives on this thread? http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=14416&boardid=32&sid=00eec9c3a24ca7fec7dabbc966752674&page=1 If you haven\'t, do, it works. Otherwise I cannot help you, someone more experienced in the code can I am sure.

You most likely forgot to redownload the Mac version of the vfs.cfg file (step 5). Please do that again and see if that helps.

Could you post a Console log? If you\'re unsure how to do this, take a look at the new sticky thread at the top of the forum \"How to Obtain a Console Log (Mac OS 10.3).\"
