This thread is a testament to the good nature of this community.  Almost anywhere else, you would have been flamed halfway to hell for saying \"wut.\"  Or just ignored.  A lot of people might not even pay attention if they think you can\'t be bothered to type the word \"what.\"  I have to admit, it makes me squirm to see it, but I\'m not going to be a jerk.

More on-topic, I would go with either race of Elf, or maybe Lemur, but I\'ve always been partial to the spellcaster archetype (and to Elves, for that matter).  I have a Dermorian character (well, had, if they\'re wiping the database right now), and was going for red/azure mage.  Of course, I am only just starting to learn how to play this game (beyond the obvious roleplaying elements, but anyone can do that), but that was my plan.

EDIT: Oh, and as for Klyros being weak...they are excellent roleplaying fodder, so they should fit right in with this game.

It bothers one because on a forum there is sufficient time to spell properly. Not doing so expresses lack of respect to the readers who might have trouble understanding these abbreviations, especially if they are not native english speaking and maybe even have to rely on translators. Also, a lot of people simply dislike these abominations; it\'s like burping loudly.
Also, improper spelling, especially chatspeak, makes you look dumb, whether you are or not.

Be aware that ingame this way of speaking is not acceptable, because you are supposed to be a medieval-style character, who would obviously speak properly.

Edit: also be aware that you need a name that fits the naming rules. Maverik does not, so either use the name generator or make up something that your parents could realistically have called you.

this thread is starting to go a bit off topic ....  =/

well when I started I picked klyros because i already had known ( from a friend) about what stage of developement the game was in. so i just run around basically killing a rat here and there  :( .. but at least i have good stam. and speed with klyros so its easy to get around. i will probably change to something physically stronger later on because they do lack a little in that area.

I understand about IM chatting, because I\'ve had four or more chat windows open, myself, but the way I learned to deal with that was to type faster (a good skill to have in today\'s society, anyway).  Referring to what Seytra said, you are obviously more intelligent than this manner of speaking shows you to be, and some people are liable to look down on you, and possibly even drastically underestimate your age and maturity, because of it.  The fact that I was impressed with these people\'s tolerance should tell you something.  On a message board, you are not expected to respond instantly.  Even if using those shortcuts is second nature to you, go with third nature (or whatever), and take the time you have to put some care into the way you communicate, if nothing else, then as a matter of courtesy.  It not only makes your posts easier to read for everyone, but it also allows you a bit more dignity in the community.  Trust me (because I used such shortcuts myself, briefly), you can actually hold your head higher knowing that the face you are showing to the community is neither cheap nor ignorant.

P.S.- Seytra brought up another good point.  While not actually morally offensive, those abbreviations are, rather like a loud belch, kind of rude, and simply bad manners.

Edit to include something on-topic in this post: The Klyros seem to be mediocre, all-around, with their strong points being in the special traits that they, as yet, still lack.

Oh, and, what race would you reccomend to someone who wants to be a quick, agile swordsman with fair offence?

*smiles* Well, I didn\'t mean to be rude.  My apologies, if I was.  By the way, I may be wrong, but I could see Maverick as being a nickname in medieval times, although as an actual name, it\'s a bit iffy.

Siegheart: Enkidukai would work quite nicely for that, and the reputation for felines to be quick and agile really helps with the flavor of it, too.  Nolthrir (Sea Elves) are only very slightly less quick and strong, and have much higher endurance and intelligence, so they are another option (although I\'m not sure they are available yet, at this stage in development).  The name is great, though. :)  Rethinking that, definitely Enkidukai, for flavor.

im not even a new player to this game yet(because i created an account and then found out the server was down) but coming from alot of mmorpg\'s i want to expand on what was said. maybe this will help to explain the distain you recieve from what ive always called either \"c00l speak\" or  \"l33t speak\"
in a massive online role playing game you need at  least  3 elements:
1 it must be online, im sure no one argues that

2 it must be massive, aka you want to log in and see alot of people in town

3 is the roleplaying part. this is where the distain for l33t speak comes from. see i cant make others roleplay. but when they do the game is more fun for me. when they dont really get into the roleplaying i can dig thier hesitence, but when they speak in a way that actually draws me out of the immersivness of the world then i dont even want to interact with them.

i would rather be Player killed by an evil raced player repeatedly then hunt with someone that says things like  \"lez go get sum Ph@t L00T.. WOOT\"

but then thats just my opinion, and i am only a guy waiting to log into the game for the first time so i can be called a noob.

and on topic: the Ynnwn look to be an interesting races, even with the strong disadvantages i love to play a big beefy half demon trying to find his way in the world.

Welcome to the world of planeshift Breetai.
You will see that here the roleplay is really good (although some may argue with that) and i\'m shure you\'ll like Yliakum.
