New NooB On The Block

Hey Fellow Planeshifters.... Downloaded the client last night, after some umm ing and ahh ing..... thought id\' give it a go.

Havnt had chance to play the game yet as the server was shutdown just as i finished creating my char, by which time it was getting late.

Anyway, i\'m looking forward to getting home tonight and trying it out.... but, i have a couple of total noob questions for you all, so please bear with me.

1) How many people dya reckon play planeshift at the moment?

(answers in terms of : Lots, Not many & Hell loads are fine  )

2) From what i can Gather Planeshift is still in its alpha stage (which is fine), but, is there a schedule of updates, or, any info pertaining to the beta releases and following full version?

3) Is Planeshift likley to be released as a retail boxed set? (probably not i think)

4) How often do the char\'s get wiped?

Sorry for all the probing questions..... but one of the reasons i\'m interested in planeshif is because of its \"still in development\" status... and i\'m looking for a game to play \"right from the start\".

2. developers try and release updates on a monthly bases, or something like that.

3. no, planeshift will alwasy be free

4. hopefully only once, but soon there will be a smaller wipe of itmes. see the news on the udate thread by talad in general discussion.

1) Lots.  Especially now, because there were quite a few people that were waiting for the wipe to come back on.


This should update just like the one on the server\'s page.

2) Updates are monthly-ish.  Though, this past update was a big one, and they\'ll be a bunch of fixes for it.

3) \"probably not\" would be my guess too.

4) This was the first time, but another is planned in a month-ish to deal with the recent big update.  I don\'t know anymore than that, though.

actually it is the second wipe, maybe the the third depending on how they did the transfer from ab. but it is the first for cb.

but, we hacked out a big discussion on a boxed set last year sometime. it should still be in general discussion i thhink.
