2nd after wipe effect? Oji nod loading
« on: August 05, 2005, 05:35:25 pm »
well thats strange - when i try to enter oji, the loading screen says its loading \'hydlaa\' and i stay where i am (in the entrance pyramid on the \'road to oji\' side). oji is not beeing loaded.

any ideas?

[EDIT]i figured it out, its a problem with the ragnarok skin. there is no loading screen for oji, think thats why its showing the hydlaa loading screen and not loading oji.

with the default skin it works - sorry for bothering.

well i assumed wrong, it has nothing todo with the skin. i have again the situation: the loading screen for oji loads (default skin) then everything freezes, even the mouse coursor.  after that the loading screen for oji road appears again and im back on oji road.

hmm, any ideas?

This happens often when passing through zones.  For some reason after loading the new zone, the first movement you make (if it even lets you get that far) makes you go backwards slightly which then reloads the zone you just came from.  The best advice is what gupgohanss5 just suggested, walk rather than run through zones.  I have also found that carefully turning then scrafing in the desired direction is effective rather than trying to just start running again.

If your comp can handle it, I would also suggest loading all zones or at least keep all zones in setup.  The less you have to load new zones, the less the chance of that happening.   ;)

Hopefully its a bug they will soon fix, even going so far as being able to continue running after loading a new zone *keeps fingers crossed*.

@Mordann: i know what you mean, it happens in all other zone transfers as you described - but oji ist different. when i \'run\' thru the zone, i keep running in place after the transfer. when i stop running, the screen immediatly freezes (not even the mouse cursor moves) and im transferred back to oji road.

when i walk thru the zone the screen is freezed immediatly after the loading screen and some 2-3 seconds im loaded back. valbrandr had the same problem yesterday but ashamn could \'run\' thru (as he said, he just kept running and suddenly passed thru).

@demarthl: as you see i edited but guess what, the problem is still not solved. and to make things worse, i can not delete the post i edited into the first one. the reason why i didnt edit it from the beginning was, that the post was somewhere on the second or third page still without answer. after val said that he experiences the same problem i thought to give it another try.

anyway, im sure you as a GM could provide more fruitful hints, not? i\'d be very glad.
