This happened once today and once yesterday.  I started the game and all was fine.  Then about 1 minute in-game, the screen would go black for a few seconds and something popped up saying \"a message is being sent, you are normally not supposed to be able to see this.\"  Then the game shut off.

It usually means that your client is disconnected which is why you are not normally supposed to see it since you are supposed to be disconnected .   I will look at that area to see if there is any reason for that.
