Where's the source?
« on: August 06, 2005, 10:09:51 am »
One of the things i find most attracting about planeshift is that it\'s open source. My question is... why isn\'t it open source? There aren\'t any sources for download on sourceforge.net. I think if you got the sources on there, then it would be even better for the development of planeshift. There would be many more people than just DFryer working on it, and collaborating, and perhaps there would be more communication between the Mac and PC scene which could result in sooner releases of the Mac Client.

you can dowload old sources from planeshift.xpam.de, or the actual from sourceforge cvs.

heh, my bad, but I still can\'t find them on sourceforge. I go to the link from Planeshift.it, which takes me here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/planeshift/ But it says \"this project has not released any files\". Are they elsewhere on the Planeshift area, or do I have to enable cookies or something?

You need to look in the CVS. You can download all of the source files from there.

P.S. \"CVS\" is the button to the left of \"Files\"

Thanks! I haven\'t really even heard of CVS before, but I\'m sure I\'ll be able to figure out enough to download the source. I\'d still suggest an easier method for source-downloading.
