Come friends to The Broken Door
« Reply #45 on: September 23, 2005, 09:11:41 am »
The Akkaio tavern will be recieving some much needed attention in the coming weeks.  The Community of Vaalnor has decided to revive this establishment.. hoping that with a little hard work, kind souls will once again frequent The Broken Door.

Until my friend Cyl can take over, I will be the Barkeep at the present.  If you have time, and you are stopping by Akkaio, come and visit us.  We definately look forward to seeing you!

*Valbrandr goes back to cleaning off the tables and sweeping the floors

Edit:  We had a very good morning... many good friends decided to stop by and visit:

Yes, we are definately making the most of our temporary residence in Akkaio.  But with the help of our members, a new home is beginning to take place.  Hume is making small trinkets and the like for our town.  I need our artisans to begin work.  We need rugs, pots, pans, weapons, decorations, etc.. everything to create the town of Vaalnor.  Already the construction workers (again namely Hume and Induane) are hard at work.  Here is a small shot of their progress.

Anyone interested in helping us continue building our home please contact me or join us in the URPS chatroom on the main SoR/CoV Site.

Currently have no shop but will hopefully get one :)

Online details: online alot now, because got not much else to do (have school holidays), i am an Australian btw.

Thats abit it...and If i don\'t get in i wish ya good luck for the future!

CoV members are very good... they are nice players and good people to play with... Archon, Sprakus and Joleterie have all been good members..so i personally think the CoV is a high standard guild

Darkw00t, I thank you for your kind words! We try hard to be nice (yes we try hard because some people like Val are so mean by nature. Just kidding! Val is one of the nicest people on PS, so no spreading rumors!)

CoV is high standard in a way that... We work hard, so we get great results. Our best members work hours on multiple projects and we get a lot of output in our efforts!

Riowyn, as this is a late post and you joined CoV all ready, welcome to the community! We\'re glad to have you!

We have added two new primary jobs: Scholar, for those who prefer to study magic,  and Explorer: for those we would rather for those who like to.. well.. explore :), and a few secondary jobs such as: Healer, Guide, Banker, and Cartographer (Some of these jobs are completely RP of course).

A Banker? Where can I find your bankers? I\'m in a desperate need of some trias, so I really would like to talk with your banker and get some credit  8)

Haha, im not sure, but at the present it is just in guild only.  Trying to set up a bank that loans people money outside of the guild could be very difficult though in the not so distant future we may think about it.  And if you dont pay, we can spam you with tell messages :).

Well, it may require some background checks. The person has to prove first that he/she can be trusted.

Being a member of a guild may add credibility, or members of some nasty guilds will never get money.

Then you could have a credibility list of persons. A list of persons who can be trusted and another with persons who can\'t be. Guilds may start checking your credibility list before accepting new members.

And there will be always some risk involved, but hey, that\'s the fun about it  :P

In game, to determine how much a person can get a loan for.. we are setting up IGQs(Inner Guild Quests) and with the completion of the quest he/she will be rewarded with Guild Points.  And in a way this will be the credit.  There will be other ways to gain points as well and the Council would likely still have to approve it.  But no dictatorship here so that never seems to be a problem :).

Actually, I think that thats a really cool idea!  The only problem is that a trusted/untrusted list would be too hard to maintain, but perhaps we can wing that part, and just only lone lots of money to people who have proven their trust by paying back smaller loans with interest.
