Iv been here quite a while and when they say soon.. or wipes will come in the future.. dont expect it to be anywhere near the close future. Not showing any negativity but thats how PS works.. steadily but surely.
Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.   :P  Xantherus Icer  :P

I think this might be a special case though, since they ~just~ had a wipe.

Cool. So how about the next wipe the Devs wipe it to zero, no crystal hoarding mb trias either. After all, it\'s about the Role Play, not having an advantage in \"the race\" over anyone else, right? That way the Devs can concentrate on killing major bugs after the wipe, not fixing all the problems with \"migrating\" a mere 5k-20k of trias to a few select and special players. After all, it\'s about the Role Play, not a few measly trias to get a head start on others.

I mean it\'s not like anyone wants to race around spending that measly amount on stats so they can stand around the Plaza ignoring all the noobs and griping about them dueling on the plaza, annoyingly daring to challenge the mighty oldbieness\' and telling them when they are granted the privilege of an answer to \"go read the guide\" and quit shouting.

You know what would be a nice change? To actually see some role playing. Oh well. I\'ll see most of these names in the Arena or Trepor Valley. Harvesting. Just like me. And we\'ll have fun fun fun til the Devs take our Gold Falchions away...

Truthfully I would be okay with that.  All I do with most of my money is give it away to guild members anyway to help them get started.  But Demarthl is right.  The money we \"Uber special\" players get is not much to do anything.  Cant even use it without an abundance of PP.  So basically we either sit on it or help people out...

oh and btw.. we were here first.. we are better than you  :D
Sorry just had to :P.

Umm... I think you guys missed the point. ;)

We knew there would be loot problems. We didn\'t know there would be a bug allowing people to trap monsters in the scenery allowing them to be killed effortlessly. That\'s the problem. Because of people exploiting that, they\'re able to get an almost unlimited amount of tria and PP for training.

And rats weren\'t meant to drop swords :P That was a completely seperate bug from the loot generator which was the reason for the item wipe.

I wonder how a rat could even lift a sword, considering that it\'s arms aren\'t meant to lift swords, and most swords are heavier than the rats anyways....

Also I have pretty much never seen a female rat, ...

im a mac user, love the game, so i borrowed my sons PC laptop so that when the mac version is up and running I havn\'t missed out.
Yes I took advantage of the windfall of swords I loaded up twice. Most of which I sold for tria, and gave to any player who was trying to get on with game in a role playing manner, or at least trying to help himself. Not one tria did I spend on any training.
Due to a graphic bug I cannot read what people are typing to me so I am forced to powerlevel or mining, which is mind numbingly boring; after hours of doing so I am stuck with killing monsters.
My role playing character in the game is a kind, humourous character who will lend a helping hand wherever possible, but in order to do this character I need to be strong in order to kill the monsters to provide the tria for helping other players.
Powerlevelling. If it\'s so wrong and not considered roleplaying, why on earth is there so many different ways to powerlevel ie. melee, sword, axe, when implemented, dagger, hammer, mace. Not to mention all the different types of monsters that require slaying, lets just talk about one: the Ulbernaut. If we didn\'t have strong warrior types are you going to role play it to death ie. words are mightier than the sword. I remember the Ulbernaut invasion for a while there I remember quite a few of you staunch roleplayers, letting your hair down and joining in the fun (the thug warrior type fun kill, kill, kill)
In short in my opinion, there is room in this game for both powerlevelling and roleplaying combined, and to add a personal point I powerlevel, I havn\'t left the game, it took me five months to get full stats, and i\'m still loving the game, and all the way through where help was asked i gave, and was still roleplaying at the same time.

Quite simple, really. If there are no female rats, then they can\'t breed, which turns the \'spawning\' into something that goes against nature and the natural laws governing \'reality\'.

Unless, of course, the female rats are forced to remain barefoot and pregnant in the nest in order to maintain the rat population, which is constantly massacred by players.

*shrugs* I\'m sure there will be something to explain the lack of female rats.

A rat is a rat is a rat... it could be either gender. What makes you Grindalyx and Cyl so sure they are all male.

Exactly! I am a Mac user, I am looking forward to getting back on line, and I don\'t care how many people are \"ahead\" of me.

There are always going to be some people way ahead of others, every time a new player joins Planeshift they begin with nothing while some others are all maxed out. It doesn\'t matter. In fact it would be utterly boring if everyone was at the same level in everything. Too many people seem to see it as some sort of competition, it is a ROLE PLAYING GAME. What matters is how you play and interact with the community not how far behind or ahead you are of other players.

Is a certain amount of Plling needed to support your RP?

On the one hand you can RP pretty anything, but on the other it wouldn\'t be easy to RP a strong fighter, and actually get blown away by the first wind that hits you, or a foulmouthed and drinking dwarf who cant even drink tea without getting drunk, ...

The structure of the game, and the stage of development means that power levelling is even a necessary part. The logistics for acquiring training etc could be better but it doesn\'t have to spoil your experience of the game or anyone elses. There is far too much moaning in these forums.

The Planeshift development team are doing a terrific job for no reward other than a great FREE product. We are priviledged to be a part of the development we should all stop complaining accept Planeshift for what it is, make suggestions in a positive manner and report bugs without whining about it. Most of all we sould be grateful to those who give up their free time so that we can be part of a great game.

Right click a rat and \"look\" at it... if that still works, dunno, it always sight \"You see a male rat in front of you called rat\"

OK you got me there, I have only just got a 2 button mouse, being a Mac user I am unaccustomed to using the right button.

We should ask the devs not to specify gender in the descriptions because I suppose the same goes for all the creatures.
