PS Movie Submissions and Compilation Threads/Stickies

I really like how WoW has two stickies on their forums, with \"Movie Thread Submissions\" and \"Movie Thread Compilation\". Here\'s the link:

The Submissions thread is where people submit new recorded WoW movies and post comments about them, chit-chat etc. The Compilations thread is where purely the movie links with short descriptions are displayed, if one does not want to read through a bunch of comments just to find another movie.

I think something like that would be great for PS as well. Movies are fun - they promote a game and attract new people. I know that PS is still too young for any exciting raids, quests, or PvP movies but it\'s still possible to find something interesting and/or funny to record. I still have a couple of PS demo movies showing off some things in the game, and I remember a humorous black&white style video someone made. It would be nice to get started by compiling any and all known PS movies to date (including the April\'s fools one), with working links etc.

Another alternative would be to make a dedicated forum for movies with only a single \"Compilations\" sticky, with regular posts being used for submissions and comments.

What do you think?

A movie Thread would be nice , i\'m always searching through the correct sections to post my movies .
I doubt some one would care about this though . Movies are often art so if you have a movie you\'ll get pointed towards the art section. There\'s all kind of Junk in there so some movies wouldnt harm . And there\'s more people with fan art anyway .

I got a wedding video i would like to post , if there was a proper sticky movie thread i could post it in there, cause now i have to go and creat a new thread called \"Wedding movie \".

Yes, some movies can be considered art. But there needs to be a sticky for it, so people can easily see all the movies ever made for PS. Search might work only if they even know that a certain movie was made. Plus, movie links often become outdated, so if a certain movie topic gets pushed far into archives, the original author will probably not bother checking if a link is still working. If, however, it was a sticky, people would be encouraged to update their links. Others would see the movies and be encouraged to make their own. In the end - more fun for everyone.

EDIT: Can we start compiling all the known PS movies made to date? So far I have only these two:

The original Jekkar\'s MPG for \"Smart NPC\" link no longer works. The AVI link at RapidShare still works.

I also found Jekkar\'s post \"Limb lost spoof\" but the link is outdated and doesn\'t work anymore.

Also, where is the link for the April\'s Fools video?

If anyone has any other working links or movies saved locally, don\'t hesitate to post and repost them.

Blame Lordbug , his wedding vid is 130 mb compressed into a 50 mb rar . I only have 50 mb webspace so i had to delete the other movies i made .

Do you still have them locally on your HD? You could try putting them at Putfile.com or RapidShare.de or something else out there. Btw, the best way to get smaller sizes is to use DivX or XviD codecs and save as .AVI. .WMV is ok too, if that\'s what you prefer.

Yes i have them on my HD , and i plan to make more crappy video\'s to make you all mad HAHAHAHHA!!!.
And i use virtualdub , so yeah i know how to compress video files.
