level caps and skills
« on: August 19, 2005, 10:38:48 am »
Firstly is there or if not, will there be a level cap and if so what will it be and how easy will it be to acquire this level.

I\'ve already looked in the FAQ for my second question but it wasn\'t all that helpful.

What skills will there be in Planeshift?
-Skills will include; Weapons, Armors, Stealth, Locksmithing, Martial Arts, Body development, and more..

So please can you tell me how you get diferent skills and whether they are skills that you have to level up [as in runescape] or ones that you learn from trainers and activate from a skill bar [as in guild wars].

By the way I\'m very happy about being able to own houses castles or even shops in game- so thanks for that!

The best way to answer your questions is playing the game.

That said, now you won\'t own a house (unless you claim that one house is yours and others accept it) also no building houses or anything similar for the time being. I honestly think that\'s not a priority.

As for the training, here all skills need theoretical knowledge, this is bought to NPC spending trias and progression points (each skill has a different amount of theoretical knowledge) once your knowledge is complete, it comes the practical part; again, each skill has more or less practical and, only when you\'ve completed that part you rise the skill level.
At this point there are more skills related to fight implemented than any other kind.

I hope that answered your questions.

PS: It\'s only me the one that finds despective that \"sewer rat\" cathegory for those with few posts?
Are there any MoonSeekers left?

Nah, I like my title.  Shows that I\'m new just like how most new players can only only kill sewer rats.

And to answer about the level cap thing, through various readings of postings, I have come to the conclusion that there are caps on certain skills due to the fact that trainers only will allow you to train a skill to a certain level.  But I could be wrong, not that leveling really means much to me, I\'m just mostly having fun exploring the world in my free time.

i like my rank...

i thinks the max on anything is 200 but that doesnt mean that you can get that in all skills. and like the guy said you can only train as far as the trainers let you.
<Rux> i wish i could say that narrows it down, but the internet is one freaky place

The maximum is completely dependant on what training is available.  Before the wipe, I had level 70 in swords, which was the maximum -- until a new trainer was introduced, and suddenly the maximum increased to 80.  Right now, I have daggers maxed out, but it\'s only level 20.  It entirely depends.
