all the blinking green lights started blinking red, and sirens started ... sirening... and those red twirly lights starting trwiling, and that computer voice started saying \"danger, danger will robinson\". otherwise the server would have melted to a cheap lump of silicon slag.

the other answer is that they may be appling some updates.
may laanx frighten the shadow from my path.
hardly because the shadow built the lexx.
the shadow will frighten laanx from my path.

There was a server patch applied today (see http://laanx.fragnetics.com).  I was on-line a few minutes ago, and the message I saw was \"server rebooting in 1 minute.  bear with us\".  i infer from that message that they are having a few issues with the patch.

A number of core dumps were fixed so the server should be a little more stable until the next set of crashes.

such a wonderfully warm and fuzzy message from the devs  :)

It\'s back up now, but all creatures are \"impervious to attack\".  luckily, they don\'t attack you, either.  I guess I\'ll go do a bit of mining :)

The reason for this is that the npcclient ( a seperate application ) takes a bit longer to startup after the server has crashed or has been restarted.  Until the npcclient is ready the server marks all the NPCs as impervious to prevent players from killing them without them fighting back.

Thank you.  That\'s good to know (although I\'m sure we will never have occasion to need this information in the future ;))
