Server tells me I am not running a correct version?
« on: August 21, 2005, 01:00:24 pm »
Hello all.

I\'m new so maybe I am missing something.
I installed the PlaneShift-Client last Night from Gentoo-Portage then I did the recommended Update (this morning) which worked fine.
I ran planeshift-setup and edited the settings.
This morning I registered myself at http://laanx.fragnetix.com/register, fragnetix is, besides, the only Server in my List is this correct?
The Server tells my that I\'m running an incorrect Version.
I\'m running Planeshift CrystalBlue(0.3.010), on laanx.fragnetics.com but i saw that there was an Update on 19.08.2005... maybe it\'s about that?
Should I downgrade? and if I should, which Version is recommended?

If you know how I can fix this, this would be great.

Best Regards

Niels

You must always be running the most current version of Planeshift. Run the updater and that should fix it :D

Thanks for your answer. :)
This is moving fast, I ran the Updater this morning.
Now I run it again and it fetches about 8MB.
But now I have another Problem...
Update begins with:

Warning, can\'t find Paths for win or mac or linux updater application!
(Server only) Critical files () not found (Server only)
NOTIFY: psUpdaterEngine initialized.
Downloading registry...
# He checks for Updates then:
Warning: Couldn\'t find Module \'other_os\' in registry.
# Then he performs various Updates and finishes with:
==== Update complete ====

Maybe this is something about the Gentoo-install?
Or do I have to edit configs manually? And if so, which ones?

Best Regards

Niels

I think i have the same problem:

%./updater -auto

Warning, can\'t find paths for win or mac or linux updater application! (Server only)
Critical files () not found (Server only)
NOTIFY: psUpdaterEngine initialized.
Downloading registry...
0%....25%....50%....75%....100%
Loaded registry
Checking for updates.. This may take a while
Warning: Couldn\'t find module \'other_os\' in registry.
All files are up-to-date!
Please wait while saving files..
==== Update complete ====

After updating the server still tells me that I\'m running an incorrect Version of planeshift.

Please help us.

Those messages are normal for the Windows version, not sure about Linux. Wish I could be more help, but that\'s all I know about that.

Hello.

You have to upgrade to version 0.3.011. Read about it here http://planeshift.oodlz.com/wbboard/thread.php?threadid=18264&boardid=41&styleid=4
Also remember, that there is Linux specific forum
"Close the world, txEn eht nepO."

Many Thanks Wired_Crawler. :)

I didn\'t know there was a Linux-Forum and that there\'s Version 0.3.011 already.

This will help to solve that problem.

Best Regards
