Might be too early to think about this

Why dont we allow players to download an offline version of Planeshift?
It would have a deep storyline, filled with NPC\'s and other goodies and monsters to build off of your level.

Of course, this is only an idea.

It depends on when you expect them to work on it. If it\'s something to pass the time while waiting for multiplay, not likely. It would distract too much from the original idea.

yea, that would be great....if they had time, their busy enough as it is and that would delay things a LONG time for both of them

And you know what happens when you have Client side offline/online games? CHEATS! All Server Side Multiplayer is the only way to go.

Links totaly right. Besides it would take away much of the online exp. and no body would bother to go online.

It would also mean more work for the devs and that means less focas on the online version.

Actually, if there weren\'t soo many cheaters, it would be good to have during down time. They could even sell it as retail. I know its free, but I wouldn\'t mind buying it if I didn\'t have to pay for it again.

I doubt it will happen, You dont just go and put your game up on the shelves, they would have to bother with getting a publisher and stuff, and who would buy a offline version with a free good online one? They have to sell a certain ammount every month or they get pulled.

True. Then we would just end up screwing ourselves out of a free MMORPG just for one thats offline. This is a bit off the subject, but do you think that this team mmight make another online game? Just wondering if they had some interesting ideas.

Just thinking. I would like to see the planeshift team make like a post nuke war type game. Of course, this would be years after planeshift. Don\'t get me wrong, I\'m not bashing. I just like to see developers spread their skills around like Rare before they suddenly jumped from Nintendo to XBOX. (Still undergoing therapy for that.). Anyway, on thee subject...uuuhhh...lost my train of thought...oh yeah. This will sadly probably be online only, but hell its free. I\'d say we get what we payed for.

I know having a retail game would be convenient for downtime on servers, but in my opinion Its better to be online than offline, its just plain out more fun when theres actual playeres to talk to and do things with
