pssetup.app unexpectedly quits
« on: August 27, 2005, 05:58:45 pm »
Everytime I open it, it just quits. And in game, the options button always makes the client unexpectedly quit as well. I was just wondering IF there was a way to fix this and what exactly are the setting options \'n stuff.

Thanks

The pssetup crash is related to the psclient crash I believe. Again, I think a new build should solve both, however, I need to find dfryer first. ;)

Pssetup also crashes
« Reply #3 on: September 23, 2005, 01:30:37 am »
I have the ps client working fine (well, it crashed the first time but worked the second), but pssetup crashes straight after loading, each time. I used the Updates to get ps client working. Does anyone else have the same problem?

I have an 800mhz iMac ...

Yes I get the same problem - even when running in the terminal - crashes with a Segmentation fault. There seems to be some files missing (renderloop).

Here is the terminal log:

Babeuf, the issue appears to be with the graphics card. 10.4 drivers let you open up psclient (albeit, with bugs), and pssetup and the updater do not run at all. Arka, could you please confirm this by posting your system specs in the stickied User System Specs thread (please use the specified format!). Thanks!

Hey... I encountered the same issue (quitting pssetup.app), albeit for a different reason:

Link (dyld) error:

Library not loaded: /sw/lib/libfreetype.6.dylib
  Referenced from: /Applications/Games/Planeshift3D/pssetup.app/Contents/Resources/freefnt2.csbundle
  Reason: image not found
Model: PowerMac8,2, BootROM 5.2.5f1, 1 processors, PowerPC G5  (3.0), 1.8 GHz, 1 GB
Graphics: ATI Radeon 9600, ATY,RV351, AGP, 128 MB

Just as FYI. The rest just works fine... got some bad FPS though (25-100), but then I am sitting in Asia.

Welcome to the forums!
The pssetup issue is known and has been discussed several times. Please don\'t resurrect such old threads and please search next time! I guarantee you\'ll find 90% of the questions you may ask have already been asked and answered. So please take the time to look around, read stickies, and use the search feature. Once again, welcome. I hope you enjoy Planeshift! :)
