Akkaio/ Wildy transit problem
« on: August 28, 2005, 02:20:35 am »
I spend a lot of time in Akkaio being Enkudukai and I have noticed a problem when i leave. When I get to the border of the reigon and it has to load, it loads and My guy appears, I go forward, and it loads again, I do this several times before I am finally through. Why does it do this, it is really annoying.

I absolutely -hate- this problem :/

The easiest solution (and one that seems to work all the time, for some reason) is hitting the run key as you go into the new area (so that would be shift+up arrow, by default) then switching back to walking (just up arrow) after the map loads.

Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

Yeh i\'m pretty sure i know why.
When your on \"auto run\" (think \' \\ \' is default) and when go through a border line you run on the spot. The only way to get through is to stop auto run but when you do that you end up steping back a bit causeing you to go back were you came from.

Solution: When comeing up to a border line turn auto run off and go through normally.

I find it great when you combine \'LShift + w\' under \'Run\'  :P

Edit: Beat me to it Karyuu  :(

It often does this when you try to run through a border with autorun..

But if not another solution would be to turn on \"keep maps loaded\". Of course, if you do this you\'ll want at least 512mb of RAM, otherwise your memeory will fill up after 2 or 3 maps.

Dont want to do that, right now the \'Load all maps\' option does not work. It loads maps but stalls when it gets to the end of the bar.

No not \"Load all maps\", \"Keep maps loaded\". It works perfectly.

Keep maps loaded is a different option that load all maps.

Keep maps loaded, as the name says, loads maps normally as you need them, but when loading a new one, it doesn\'t unload the previous where you were.

Even with walking the problems is still there.

There is another solution that I was told.

Walk on the border and when it loads press & hold the up arrow key.  As soon as the load finish press shift (dont release the arrow key). And it will work ^_^

Thx for all the advice! I was getting really frustrated by that. I hope they fix the bug in the next update
