On the other hand, Fenki is smiling and holding a blade, which does not necessarily mean a good thing either. :P

Seeing them all side by side in one picture, complete figures as if posing for a group photo, that would be interesting too. People could see the proportions more easily.
Maybe you could try various clothes and armor designs?

@%! Why can\'t I spell?! Actually, I should just stop doing these at 3AM. that might help.

Group posing would definately be better for size comparison. An actual scene would be even better than that, as it could establish a story. While coloring, I really felt like I should have thought more about their costumes. It would be great if every race had their own sort of traditional dress, jewelry, or way they groom their hair. That moves into culture building, which I find particulary interesting.

That Dermorian and Fenki can\'t be trusted. I pictured the Dermorian on the hunt, peeking through some underbrush, but I think the Fenki may just be trying to intimidate you.

Hey, Kim

Amazing work! Beautiful! It\'s about time someone did this, as I was getting tired of endless Enki drawings. My favorites so far are both elven girls, and also Lemur. The rest are nice too. I\'m actually hoping that Xacha women will turn out to be beautiful in the game. But shouldn\'t Xacha have a pale greyish skin color, as in concept art on the main site?

Also, sorry to be the first one to criticize anything at all but the only drawing I\'m not too fond of is Diaboli. The neck-to-shoulder transition is a bit too thick for my taste. I\'ve always pictured Diaboli women looking something like Elizabeth Hurley in Bedazzled, perhaps. ;)

Oh, one other thing is that Nolthrir female seems to have her gills on her cheeks in your drawing but on the conceprt art they\'re on her neck.

But that\'s just IMO. It\'s your style, your expression.

Other than that, simply amazing! :)

I have to say: that is the most beautiful Fenki I\'ve ever seen anyone draw ;)
Judge: Are you trying to show contempt for this court, Mr Smith?
Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

First I, too, think that the Klyros fits pretty well. However, where did you get the \"Noone ever drew a female Klyros\" from? I know of at least four female Klyros drawings:

Here, here, here and here.

As a general comment: I think the faces of the comparatively human races look deformed somehow, but otherwise it\'s really nice!

Oh, by the way, if you need help with that feel free to contact me. I\'m not on a MAC, but I know some of the usual pitfalls, and have successfully messed with models.zip several times. If everything else fails, I can zip it for you, though you\'d have to download the entire modified models.zip off me in this case.

Utterly beautiful work, Lady Kim. I like them very much, though my tastes run more to the side of realism. Brilliant choice on the Siamese coloring for your Fenki. :D

But? and this goes to all the artists out there, not just you? why does everyone insist on drawing Diaboli with red skin? They are clearly described as having oil-black skin. Which, with proper lighting would give a deep purple or blue hue to their skin, never red. Could you try doing a Diaboli with these colors? This is not a rant, sorry if it seems that way.  :)

I just care very much for the Diaboli race, do to their importance in my story.

Really moon? the little gif on the races pages has them slightly reddish. I\'m all for blue black purple.. might try that out on my doodle.

Yes my friend. :) To quote:

From the Races page on the main site:
The typical Diabolo has shiny oil-black skin, a thin pointed tail and little horns. Apart from that, they have almost the same body proportions as humans, and almost identical internal organs. Both male and female have gorgeous, perfectly shaped bodies.

That pic is either atypical, misleading, or wrong. Also note that the Dermorians are described as having \'rarely blond\' hair, yet guess what color the example has.  ;)

Well now everyones just getting into realism rants. :D

I still think the Diaboli rocks :D And the Enki.. and I love how you drew the Klyros!! I\'d think it would be hard to portray the female Klyros.. but you did it :D With a little.. blush? :P

Kudos :D

Actually, I\'m a bit confused about that myself and wondered what to do with her skin. There\'s some conflicting info in the race descriptions, images on the pages, and the models in game and this is not just with the Diaboli.

One of the reasons I kept her reddish was technical. The way I had used my levels in photoshop made any darker tone I put on her look strange and overpowered the pencil. I had a few set on overlay and multiply, so I could use that kraft paper as a background (these sketches are actually done in a regular sketchbook). I\'m still getting the hand of digital coloring since I\'m more of a real media person. This will possibly make no sense too you. Sorry.

Essentiallly, I\'ll keep this all in mind for the future. I really think this game is awesome and love playing around with ideas for it. Everything I drew is not set in stone for me and comments/critiques are welcome. It\'s more conceptual on my part and the first time I\'ve drawn these guys, so expect ideas to evolve.

Realism rants? Don\'t worry, it\'s expected. People all have their own picture in their heads of how the characters look. It\'s natural. Plus, these are cartoony and I\'m used to how most people react to that. Animation and comic styles are usually not given the same reaction as something more realistic.

Kainen - That might be difficult, considering I\'m a girl. Unless your up for some scientific interference. :D

I have no new Planeshift art done for now, as I have other projects also. People have asked for armour and such, which I don\'t usually draw (being more interested in characters and creatures) but I\'ll try eventually. This project is a good chance for me to start drawing things I don\'t normally do! I\'ll post as soon as I have more.
