Hi all

I started to build a dungeon and want to have some ideas and critics.
I used the PS actual textures for now.

Quite nice, what\'s the polycount on that?

Are you just building this for fun, or does it have a purpose? Note that you can\'t use PS artwork for other projects. :)

ohh like a craggy mountain with narry paths and dangerous jumps xD

For now, here is the count:
Socle : 1700 faces
Fire tank : 100 faces (17 items)
Dungeon walls (outside) : 2000 faces
Dungeon walls (inside) : 800 faces
Torch : 80 faces (24 items)

But all is not done, for example inside small towers walls and stairs are not created yet. Have also to create inside installations.

Being part of a PS scene...
I imagined creating a small town (have ideas about it but will be happy having more ;o) inside the walls, for example adding a cloitre, shops, houses... The city walls will have ditchs and two entries. I imagined undergronds with entries from inside walls, one inside dungeon and perhaps some secret entries outside city walls. Inside dungeon, I thank about an armory at ground floor, a meeting room with a big round table at first floor, and an observation point at top.

About climb, I need some informations: what is the max degrees to climb (character with climb skill 150 can climb 90? walls?)

Will be outside, think about some big mountain with city at top (yes, could be dangerous using bad ways hehe)

About jumps: I work in centimeters and how long a character can jump, and how high? with normals skill, flying capacity...

Why, or why not if it\'s for PS ;o)

About textures, I saw copies of same ones in different packs, could it be possible to create differents pack that can be used in on pack scene? Is it possible, like in Quake maps, to create full parts of scenes  (using bsp packs) : one pack for a house, and just putting them in some different places, or the only way is to use genmeshes and thingmeshes.
For example, can I create a house1.zip pack with 3D, textures, effects... and use it many times in many scenes?

Very nice indeed. That would be an excellent addition. Perhaps if it were placed somewhere way out in the wilderness, say, a thirty minute (in real time) run from Hydlaa, twenty minutes from Ojaveda. Somewhere far away, guarded by large hostile monsters. Yeah, that\'d be awesome. Perhaps a valuable quest to retrieve a weapon from a dark prince who broods there. Essentially, far enough away so that it is not worth camping there, but with opportunities for group questing to go there for massive fun.

Cool, I like this model, please somebody include it?

30min away?? So youre saying were gonna waste half an hour of our lives just pressing and releasing the autorun key? :P

Ok, here is some news about dungeon.

I finished most of it, need to build plateform and windows at top, and towers stairs (will use genmesh to save CPU).

Actually, the dungeon is approx 7350 faces.

looks great!

May I recomend adding more to it though? the interior is very small for he size of the building and wouldn\'t house too exciting of a dungeuon in side. You could make one of the towers on the sides a spiral staircase that goes up to more floors, or you could create a basement with catacombs or what not.

I dont know what your intention is for the model, however if it was implemented it would be far more interesting of a place to visit if it had a more complex interior.

Decorations you could use to outfit it could include chains and shackes hanging every which way, torture devices, weapons, jail cells, etc.

I know its a lot of work but imagine the result!

Small? Perhaps... but it can be a pic sensation.
Actually, the dimenions are:
base: height 8m circle diameter 28m
dungeon: height 24m diameter 14m

For more height, I can put the dungeon at top of hill in city or create a 3rd floor, why not.

For inside installs, I thank about meeting point at 1st floor and armory in ground. I imagined undergrounds under city to dungeon, but I can add jails or rooms, no problems (will be better, yes;o).

For any torture room or  some decorations inside, if you send pics I can do good things ;o)

Looks very good so far, but please, add more to it! You could add a whole dungeon underneath it, with all kinds of scary things like uh.. well anything other than rats. Maybe even plan some quests ahead that can be found inside, and tell them to the devs if you ever get this thing ingame (which you should).
