A short but helpfull FAQ
« on: September 06, 2005, 03:56:27 pm »
I glued together a FAQ from the most asked questions i get on the advisor channel.
Hope this helps somebody ;)
As i stumble into more questions i\'ll try to update.

Q: I need help.
A: Use the help channel, there are many good advisors ingame that can help you.

Q: How do i start? I\'m new.
A: The best way to start is to read the player\'s guide.

Q: How do i get money?
A: You can get money by hunting or mining.

Q: What monsters can i kill if I\'m new?
A: Mainly rats and after a while you can move on to bigger things such as tefusangs.

Q: What are progression points, how do I get them and how do I use them?
A: Progression points are the experience you get from killing monsters. They are used to train the theoretical part of certain skills or to train statistics like strenght, agility etc.

Q: What do i need in order to train a skill?
A: First you need some progression points and money. Then you need to find the trainer that can help you in the skill you want.

Q: How much does training cost?
A: Training costs 42 trias per session and you need several sessions in order to complete a training stage.

Q: What do the yellow, green, red and blue bars near the skills mean?
A: Yellow = Amount of theoretical knoledge needed before you start the practical part.
Green = Amount of theoretical knoledge achieved (when training) or amount of practical experience (when practicing)
Red= Amount of practical experience required up to next level
Blue= Your curent  progression points (if blue bar is longer than the yellow bar you can complete the theoretical training for the skill in question)

Q: Yeah but HOW do i train?
A: After finding the trainer select him and type \"/train\" then select the skill you want to train and click on the \"Buy Skill\" icon.

You have to train until the yellow bar turns green completely. Next thing is the practical training and for that you have to use the skill you trained in order to level up.

Q: How do I mine?
A: Buy a pick, equip it in your left hand, find the right spot to mine and type \"/dig [mineral]\" where [mineral] can be gold, platinum, iron, coal.

Q: How can i get a quest?
A: Select a NPC by clicking on it and say \"May I have a quest please?\".

Q: I\'m stuck in a place I can\'t get out from and I can\'t move.
A: Type \"/unstick\" that will move you to a safe spot.

Q: What are those duel points?
A: Duel points are the ones you get from winning a duel with another player.

Q: What are duel points good for?
A: You can brag about how many you have, else they serve nothing.

Q: How do i get magic?
A: First you need to buy a glyph, purify it and learn the spell.
Then find a trainer that teaches The Way your spell is in.

Q: What ways are there and what are the coresponding spells?
A: There are 6 magic ways each one influenced by a certain mental stat.
Chrystal Way - Charisma - Summon Missle
Dark Way - Charisma - Weakness
Azure Way - Will - Defensive Wind
Red Way - Will - Flame Burst
Brown Way - Intelligence - Armour
Blue Way - Intelligence - Cold

Q: How do I increase my mana?
A: Training mental stats increases your mana.

Q: Is there a command to cast spells?
A: Yes there is try using \"/cast [spell name]\".

Q: In which hand shall i put the sword?
A: It doesn\'t matter in wich hand you are holding the sword. You will hit with both hands aslong as you have fighting items equipped (that includes fists). If you equip a non fighting/defensive item (mug:P/shield) you will only hit with one hand. The only thing you MUST equip in the right (and that means left) hand is the rock pick. Equip it on the right and you can\'t mine.

Q: Does having 2 weappons help?
A: Yes, you hit with both hands so it helps.

Q: Is leather armour working?
A: Yes, leather armour is light armour class and that is the only armour availeble so far.

Q: What does armour do, does it help you recieve less damage when monsters attack?
A: Armour increases your possibility to block a blow from a monster decreasing the damage taken.
With higher levels the chance to block a hit increases while the damage absorbed by the armour remains the same.

Q: How do i oppen doors?
A: You canot open doors yet, use the ones that are already opened.

Q: How can i get to the Magic Shop?
A: Exit Hydlaa and follow the road in the forest. At the crossroads turn right.

Q: How can i get to the other town?
A: If in Hydlaa, exit the gates, and follow the road in the forest. At the crossroads turn left and follow the valey to Ojaveda (Akkayo)
If in Ojaveda, exit the town and follow the valey. At the crossroads turn right.

Q: Do shields work?
A: No, ATM keeping a shield will not help you.

Q: What do the coloured bars in my status window represent?
A: - HP = red = associated with blood
  - Mana = violet = associated with mystical stuff
  - Physical Stamina = green = associated with walking on earth
  - Mental Stamina = grey = associated with brain
  - Experience = yellow = energy

Very good FAQ
I can answer a few more common questions if you don?t mind...

Q:Why is it that some characters get spawned in Hydlaa (main city) and others in Akkio (Enkidukai city)?
A: Some places take you to your place of origan. So the Human race will be spawning in Hydlaa and Enkidukai?s in Akkio. Of course once each race has there own city and once all have been made each character will spawn in its rightful place.

Q: I?m in this weird dark place, where am I?
A: This is called the Death Realm (DR). It is the place you spawn after you die. Once you die you must get out by walking through a portal after you climb the spiral staircase. Take it one step at a time, or you will fall!

Q: Ahh! Help, I fell and now I?m stuck in this COMPLETELY dark place. How do I get out?
A: Common question. Simply double enter ?/unstick? (for a quicker way, type ?/unstick? in the chat box once, then arrow up and enter again). This will spawn you back to the bottom of the ?cave? where you can go for another try!

Q: Someone?s bullying me or I have a very specific request that has NOT been asked before (use the ?search? button in the forum).
A: Ask the GM?s! That?s what we are here for, to help you. Drop us a PM here or PM us in game by ?/tell [text].
