group emotes: dancing together, aso
« on: September 07, 2005, 12:57:20 pm »
I would like to see real original emotes and until today, i never saw any group emote in any mmorpg.

It would be nice to see something like that in ps but i think it must be pretty hard to code.

What I call group emote:

example : You are with 5 friends and try the group emote:
you type \"/DancingInvite friend1&friend2&friend3&friend4&friend5 with OjaDance\"
Every of your friend recieve a messageBox : \"X invite you to start a group dance\"
if((timeSinceYouasked==20secondes)or(everyoneAccepted())
then startGroupDance()

and everyone dance together

Another one (a little harder):
you see a chair, you click on the chair and then type
/InviteToSitDown Taser (its only an example :D)
And once Taser accepts your character pulls the chair, Taser come sit down on the chair and you push a little bit on the chair like a gentleman.

 :D

*imagines hundreds of characters doing the latest summer fashion dance at the Plaza* Noooooooooooooo! :D

j/k

Great idea... sure, not one of the most important features, but this would add great, unique possibilities to the game!

How about an option to join in even after the action started?

I actually like this idea. There needs to be more emotes, and not just for groups. MMORPGs without emotes are boring, IMO. :P I already made a post long ago about free motion capture file library, which has plenty of dances and similar

For once I can understand what your saying Fken.  You should write all your posts in pseudo code!

I invision it looking like line dancing or square dancing.

Good idea.

every buttons of every games require a command line : for example : lineage2 /sit is the command of the button SIT DOWN, /stand to stand up...
each command line of ps will have a button with a better (I am hoping) interface. look at your shortcut buttons, right click on one of them. You will see the command line and you are able to modify it.

@Taser :  are you thinking I am not a gentleman ?  ?(

Bleh, don\'t like the examples :P
I\'d rather see a good old hug, which I think is more popular than any of those things ;)
But even a simple hug would need lots of work... Just think of a hug between dwarf and a Kran... =)

poor Kran... hugging a dwarf is similar to hug a not clean socket... it smells the same thing... especially if you forgot a big piece of munster (cheese) in the socket...

So beeing serious,

the Kran will have no problem to carry the dwarf...

Well, don\'t worry so much, since Krans don\'t breath, they don\'t smell either
