Actually, that would be you... :)

English has always been the only official language of PlaneShift, most definitely in public in-game chat. This is a very strictly enforced rule, and has always been. Translations are welcome, of the Player Guide, of the in-game menus, but speaking other languages on public mediums (particularly crowded locations) is a no-no.

Smith: No, My Lord. I am attempting to conceal it.

If they will have a separate Planeshift server for Spanish community, I do not see any problems with it. They share the game and maps, but won\'t interact with the English game.

Besides that, Spanish is the most spoken language in the World, right after the Mandarin language, so the Spanish Planeshift may become much stronger than the English one.

EDIT: I will take back my words due to the reasons explained below.

There will never be separate servers for languages/world regions. All servers will connect to the same world, to make sure that no separation of the playerbase will happen at all.

Official development team statement.

Objective 1: Gathering resources under a single common project is very important to build a strong team. We should try to avoid our project forking into other similar projects, because that means splitting resources and thus, lowering our chances of success. Those other forked projects will repeat efforts already spent on discussion of rules, building new races, writing new code and we will end up again with a lot of resources wasted and no goal reached.

... accepted by me.

No more arguments :)

The best thing you can do is translate the manual in to spanish.  This is pretty easy and just requires an extremely basic understanding of XML.  Trust me - it\'s easy as hell.

If you contact me personally I can send you the files to be translated.

Use this email:

You can see the current English and German manual translation here:
