why: for rp enhancment.

what: coffee....

who: uhh.... mabye kada-el?

how: you can learn to make it yourself.

where: ohm (i think that\'s the world name).

when: soon (hope you know the planeshift version of \"soon\")

huh: huh....

1. Just order milk like the enkidukai.

2. No kinds of drinking are implemented, it\'s all RP, and noone is going to prevent you from RPing drinking coffee. Unless of course coffee doesn\'t exist in PS, in which case Draklar is going to raise a brow :P

I was not aware of the history of Coffee, being edumucated in public  school, I only know the history of the cup of coffee in front of me and it looks like it is history!

Anyhow, I am sure elixurs with coffee like properties would be apropriate in PS the name coffee might be replaced with something like black bean tea, or if the word tea is out then maybe Postem :)

Maybe your character should have a sleepyness bar (you would need to refill it every day or so) and you drink coffee to regenerate it, and in your house you just sleep to regenerate , and ale could in turn make you more sleepy

A sleepyness bar? That\'s what the fatique bar is there for... :P

But, pretty please, we definitely NEED coffee... no good game without pitch black, steeming hot coffee to get your character addicted to! :D

Caffein overdose:
  • You are unable to walk - you just keep RUNNING all the time
  • You can\'t controll your magic - you ALWAYS try to cast spells at their absolute maximum
  • You overdo it at fighting, attacking twice as fast, but also loosing three times the fatique you normally would
  • You can\'t help but play frantically cheerful music (see tavern thread :D )
  • You are unable to speak normally - everything you say will be in capslock / italic font / different color / whatever
  • Your senses are playing tricks on you - sometimes your vision starts flickering for a moment or you\'ll hear some strange noise

Not to forget the nasty side effects caffein junkies experience from not getting their daily / hourly fill of coffee... :D

loss of sleep or fatigue could make you be angry and grumpy to NPCs (which could discard that quest for a while or raise there prices) could make mistakes in combat and magic (accidently stab yourself or cast wrong spell) there is alot of those things on the bad side

Antranianni give a good description of how it will looks like. I would to add that is some kind of status of the character, the malus due to the lower stamina will be discarded but in fact the stamina is always getting lower and lower...
(about side effect, I spoke about it in the \"magic with no mana\" thread )
Wish list summary (under construction)

Meh, with the position coffee has in (American) society these days, you\'d probably have newbies running around claiming they have/want caf? lattes and cappuccinos or jumping up and down until their stamina runs out on caffeine highs.

Perhaps there could be some kind of product with similar properties that plays a role akin to that of coffee in our world during the 1500s.  Like something that is very popular, very bitter, and only grows in certain regions.  In ye olde days they didn\'t have Splenda, kids.

I\'d still like teas, though...you can make tea out of almost anything.  Well, almost any plant I suppose.  Just as long as it isn\'t poisonous or something.  Or tastes bad, and even then you still could.  It would just, uh, taste bad.
