User System Specs
« on: September 11, 2005, 10:04:12 pm »
Attention all Mac users, please post your system specs and how well Planeshift runs in this thread so that we will easily be able to help you in the future. If your specs are posted here, we can try to establish some sort of pattern to bugs and crashes. In addition, we won\'t have ask for your specs anymore. Please follow the format below. Make sure to include whether Planeshift runs, your average FPS (frames per second), and any bugs you\'ve encountered.

Computer type (i.e. Powerbook, G4 Tower, etc):
Mac OS Version (x.x.x):
Processor (speed, type):
RAM:
Video Card (type, VRAM):

Planeshift runs (y/n):
Average FPS:
Platform-specific bugs encountered:

Thank you! Please remember to keep your specs up to date by editing your post whenever your configuration changes!

Computer type: Power Mac G4
Mac OS Version: 10.4.2
Processor: G4 933 MHz
RAM: 512 MB
Video Card: nVIDIA GeForce4 MX, 64 MB VRAM

Planeshift runs (y/n): Yes
Average FPS:

Akkaio: 15-25
Ojaroad/Forest: 50-70
Trepor Fields: 10-15
Hydlaa: 5-20
Sewers: 60-90

Platform-specific bugs encountered:

- updater and pssetup open, yet crashes immediately
- game crashes upon looting if monster contains loot
- Jayose\'s library books can not be examined or moved into inventory
- GUI windows all messed up (looks as if background image is squished to the top of the window)

There may be more, but I\'m limited as to what I can do (No looting = no money, so I can\'t test buying, selling, etc.) Plus, I haven\'t had much time to play lately. I\'ll update as I encounter more.

Cha0s\'s edit: removed reference to tab issue. This is not platform specific and has been dealt with by stfrn. Should be fixed in the next update.

Computer type: PowerMac G5
Mac OS Version: OSX 10.5.1
Processor (speed, type): G5 2x1.8GHz
RAM: 3 GB
Video Card (type, VRAM): ATI Radeon 9600XT, 128MB

Planeshift runs (y/n):  Yes
Average FPS:

Version 020 runs almost fine, and the area in the BD are finally not black anymore. BUT - There's too much lag, especially around the plaza.

I'm running on Leopard - and I get a strange failure with my character. Sometimes invinsible, and body parts mixed around. I'm not quite sure if it's the program or what - yet!
These texture failures got solved with the adding of lines to psclient.cfg and to the opengl.cfg, but now the games suddenly quits after 1 to 5 minutes.

Computer type : iBook G4 12\"
Mac OS Version (x.x.x): 10.4.2
Processor (speed, type): G4, 1GHz
RAM: 768 MB
Video Card (type, VRAM): ATI Mobility Radeon 9200, 32 MB

Planeshift runs (y/n): y
Average FPS: 20/30
Platform-specific bugs encountered:
 - some locations have black textures : spiral path in death realm, ground around the house in the forest.
 - hard to go from ojaroad to ojaveeda : going from road to veeda loads veeda world, then moving forwards immediatly reloads road region, then coming back to veeda restarts this reloading cycle.
