System Specs- 0.3.012
« Reply #32 on: November 05, 2005, 02:03:05 am »
Using:
PowerMac
10.4.9
DP 2.5 GHz G5
6.5 GB RAM
ATI Radeon 9600 XT, 128 MB

Planeshift 0.3.019 does run

Crippling lag since 019 was introduced in most of Hydlaa Plaza, near racial spawn points,  and odd locations in Arena, near lower sewer entrance, East Hydlaa, entrance to Ojaveda, and at several locations in Death Realm.

By crippling, I mean that in order to navigate, I must stop forward movement, tap arrow keys until I turn, then resume forward movement.   Then stop, turn, resume.  Kinda robot-like.  Otherwise, I end up chugging into buildings, walls, stair railings, or off catwalks to my doom.

Computer type: Powermac G4 \"mirrored drive doors\"
Mac OS Version: 10.3.9
Processor: Dual 1GHz G4
RAM: 768mb
Video Card: ATI Radeon 9000 AGP 64MB VRam

Planeshift 0.3.11 runs: yes   pssetup: yes
Planeshift 0.3.12 runs: yes    pssetup: no   (crashlog says: 0.3.11)

Updater v. 1.0.2.8 did rund about a dozen of times, still says, everything is up-to-date.

Edit 6.11.05 : Updater installed a package of more 17MB now. No Difference. psclient and pssetup do still crash at start.
Edit 7.11.05 : edited updaterconfig.xml and psclient.cfg as recommended. psclient runs, pssetup still not

Computer type (i.e. Powerbook, G4 Tower, etc): Mac Mini
Mac OS Version (x.x.x): 10.3.9
Processor (speed, type): 1.25 GHz G4
RAM: 1024 GB
Video Card (type, VRAM): ATI Radeon 9200 32MB

Planeshift runs (y/n): y
Average FPS: 50-60
Platform-specific bugs encountered: I don\'t know if this is mac only bug, but a whole lot of areas are just black. Like the stair case in the death realm is gone. And a whole lot of other textures turn black sometimes. Also, whenever i try to use mouse look and run, it automatically selects my character and doesn\'t let me do anything at all. I have to shut down my computer afterwards.

All right, here we go.  I\'m hoping that what I\'m doing isn\'t worthy of flaming *ducks* but I need some help.

Computer type: PowerPC G4 (eMac)
Mac OS Version: 10.3.9
Processor (speed, type): 1.25 GHz
RAM: 256 MB DDR SDRAM
Video Card (type, VRAM): (sorry, I checked my system info & couldn\'t find it, not sure)

Planeshift runs: I can open the client, but I\'m getting the server 100 fail notice.  I\'m trying to connect when the fragnetics site says the server\'s up & running.  I ran the updater.  I don\'t have a firewall.  I searched the forums, and yes, I saw plenty of posts with similar problems, but as far as I can tell, not the solutions I need.  Please help me if you can, & keep in mind I\'m a total dunce when compared with all of you techies.  I\'m not computer illiterate, but looking around these forums, I\'m feeling like I\'m on hooked-on-phonics! lol
