Well, I just made the switch from PC to Mac, and my first thing to do was get the Mac version of PS. It\'s been troublesome. Here are my specs.

Computer type (i.e. Powerbook, G4 Tower, etc): Powerbook
Mac OS Version (x.x.x):  10.4.3
Processor (speed, type): 1.5 GHz, PowerPC G4
RAM: 512MB ddr
Video Card (type, VRAM): nVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200, VRAM: 64mb

Planeshift runs (y/n): no, I guess
Average FPS: n/a
Platform-specific bugs encountered

Well, I can get the client up (though it says the server is down). I tried to run both the updater and pssetup. Both close themselves immediately, so I tried to use the terminal command stated in the readme, and it does the same thing. It opens, then closes, and I get the following error:
The application has quit unexpectedly.
Then an option to reopen, which does nothing.
I also tried updater.jar on a whim, no help.

I know this isn\'t the place to post problems, but I figure it couldn\'t hurt.

.___. I hope I\'m putting in the right info. xO

Computer type: Imac G5
Mac OS Version: 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: 2.1GHz PowerPC G5
RAM: 512MB 533 DDR2 SDRAM
Video Card: ATI Radeon X600 XL with 128MB DDR Video Memory

Planeshift runs (y/n): Yes.
Average FPS: .__.?
Platform-specific bugs encountered:

O___o Okay I read the \"guide to running planeshift on Mac\" Etc etc. and read the info about how to fix the server issue with the firewall and everything. .__. But it didn\'t see any possible firewall blocking anything and I took the advice about going into the data folder and opening up the firewall and everything. @___@ But it\'s not working! I still can\'t log in, it just says the server is down.

Even though it states in the forums that it\'s up. D:
Is this because I\'m on a G5? @___@
Unless I\'m just a moron, I\'m really confused if it\'s me or the computer or what.

xO I would love help with this, thank you for your time.

Computer type: (Powerbook-Pismo/Firewire
Mac OS Version (10.3.9):

Processor: (400, G3)  Yeah, I know.  I have no business here until I can afford a better computer.

RAM: 512
Video Card: (ATY,RageM3, 8MB)

Planeshift runs (y/n): no
Average FPS: N/A

Platform-specific bugs encountered: After I double click the app. the planeshift window does this thing where it displays a telescoping screenshot of my desktop.  i.e. a picture inside a picture inside a picture.  Everything is illegible.  So I launch it in full screen mode which is only mildly better since it has less of a screenshot to telescope.  The login window says at first \'wait 100\' then changes to \'fail 100\'.  After I try to connect it says the server is either down or unreachable and to check the website.  It does allow me to quit.  And the startup music is quite nice.  Let me know whether I should just give up and delete the Planeshift folder.  Oh yes one more thing, I have used both the included and the jar updaters.

Platform-specific bugs encountered:

I\'ve done everything, up to the point of creating and account
and having downloaded the update. I don\'t have the new updater,
but it wasn\'t needed since the one that was with the download
was fast enough anyways.

The actual problem is that when I click on the psclient application
it never gets past the icon bouncing on my tool bar. So basically, the
psclient document isn\'t working period.

Computer type (i.e. Powerbook, G4 Tower, etc): Powerbook G4
Mac OS Version (x.x.x): 10.4.4
Processor (speed, type): 1.33Ghz G4
RAM: 2 Gigs 333 ddr
Video Card (type, VRAM): ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 EDIT: forgot to mention it has 64MB VRAM

Planeshift runs (y/n): y
Average FPS: 15 or so
Platform-specific bugs encountered: I dunno\' if these are platform specific, but huge gaping holes in the texture exist outside of the the cities.  The entrance to the sewers graphics bleed outrageously and I fall through textures fairly easily at the entrances.    That and I tend to have lag-spikes every couple of seconds, which is kind of nauseating.  Altogether, if this game wasn\'t free, I wouldn\'t play it for more than 3 minutes.

EDIT: 2/8/2006

Noticably better performance on OS X 10.4.4 from 10.3.9.  Everything looks, lights, and works a little bit better.  In many ways, it\'s a LOT better.  So, consider upgrading if you\'re on the fence.  Spotlight alone is a decent reason to upgrade, widgets are neat as well.  Bear in mind I have more RAM than I normally ever use.

EDIT: 3/27/06

Not running v.13 since update.
