Backdoor, Graybird...
« on: September 16, 2005, 09:24:55 pm »
While cleaning my computer\'s files, uneeded items, etc. My Norton Anti-virus discovered a virus called \"Backdoor, Graybird\" and as I looked at the specs of this virus, it said that it coppied itself as a file in one of my computers, and upon deleting the file, I think thats how it got detected...

It appears that the damage it did to my computer was about a 45%, which is the cause of all these sudden technical problems...If anyone can give me a solution to getting rid of this virus, and protecting my computer from it coming again, I would appreciate it.

Nevermind, at the cost of about 79 dollars, I\'m going to get assistance from the Geek Squad about this, they said they\'re getting the same virus, so it must be recent...I think these papers I have printed out describing the Trojan Horse might help them find a way to delete it ;P

Backdoor Graybird... /me throws a poorly animated grenade at the file BG is copying

Actually, I found out that this virus came from an update to SpySweeper, someone hacked into the website SpySweeper gets it\'s downloads from and caused everyone with it installed to get this virus...Geek Squad said I should be ok as long as my Norton is updated, and I have a good firewall

Well at first I thought Demarthl was right, but after getting some REAL professional help, they said it was a SpySweeper update...

The virus started eating away at my computer, when I just turned it on it automatically scanned my disk drives and everything, so I know that its damaging my computer every second...I just have to wait it out, until SpySweeper updates a fix...:/
