Harnquist: Around Town Report

I tell ya.. ever since Harnquist started drinking, he\'s not reliable anymore.

I\'d come from the arena looking to sell my items and he wasn\'t at his post! I looked around a bit and found him going up the steps toward the tavern. He wouldn\'t stop to do business and i couldn\'t trade with him on the move, so i followed.



He went into the tavern and commenced climbing on tables (wish i had made screenshots). I didn\'t stay to see if he started stripping and stuff, but i already had a different view of old Harnquist.

Used to you could count on the guy. Now... i wouldnt be suprised to find him lying in a gutter someplace.

I\'m ready to take my business to another more reliable merchant... if i can find anyone ready to step in and take his place.

What\'s the world coming to when ya can\'t even count on \"ol reliable\" Harnquist? :(

If you stuck around, you would have noticed that he was going to head up stairs to the room to get the shroom.

I sold him one and then he just kept asking where I was getting them... I never should have told him.....

hmmm, perhaps the pressures of his job have been a bit much on him.

don\'t make a new thread there is one in bugs section that you posted in, also he goes near the sewers and drinks for the fountain (i believe) and then comes back, that the first time i saw him walk off

... and when i noticed that i posted it in the bugs thread, i knew i should move the post out of there.  Harnquist walking around is not a bug ..as far as i know.

Also, i thought maybe it would be good to have a thread just for others to post on things Harnquist or other NPCs are doing and adding a bit of drama or meaning to the NPC\'s actions in the account if they wanted .. not about it as a bug report. :)

At first we thought it was a bug, alot of NPcs are starting to grow intelligence, rogues are running into walls then teleporting behind us and killling us, the rogues know some tricky stuff

Harnquist also is not staying in his usual spot, now he is a bit outside the shelter so it appears they are doing alot of work to harnquist

For public decency, someone should put a bathroom in his shop - last time I followed him I caught him urinating in the fountain.

Sadly I was too shocked to get a screen shot.

Is it time he retired?

I actually think Harnquist is getting pretty intelligent now... It is a very good start for NPCs with AI.. he may go but he comes back realistically and so on... maybe you could see him actually drinking in the tavern and he could come back drunk

I was sitting by the fire in the tavern, amusing myself with a tune on my recorder, when I opened my eyes, and suddenly found Aleena Arlaven standing just in front of me.

She can usually be found up on the tavern roof selling potions, but apparently she comes downstairs from time to time.  This time, she was standing just a few feet from me, looking away from me, toward the front door of the tavern.  A few seconds later, Harnquist came in the door.  He seemed to take a quick glance in our direction, then continued on to the other side of the room.

A few seconds later, Harnquist left out the front door, and Aleena went back upstairs just after that.

So, I think I\'ve uncovered the real cause of Harnquist\'s recent dereliction of duty.  It was just dumb luck that I happened to be there at the time; so let\'s all try to give the happy couple a little space in the future.

It will be a huge wedding! the temple crowded with all their family and friends. And Harnquist has a lot of friends...
I wonder what I\'ll get them as a wedding present.. a nice sword perhaps? Or some of that gold he\'s always asking for.
