Completely stealth players & MOB(s) and an apology
« on: September 18, 2005, 12:53:56 pm »
Yesterday in the Arena I started attacking a Gladiator that appeared to be unoccupied.  The attack starts normally, then suddenly I see a message that I must be grouped with \'Wengull\', but, I don\'t see anybody around, nor do I see the Gladiator doing anything.  No messages in the chat window saying it\'s being attacked or somebody else started an attack.  The whole time I don\'t see anyone else there.

So I try again and the Gladiator is dead, again no messages in the chat window indicating this.  Now when the Gladiator re-spawns I try again, same sequence as above.  I try sending Wengull a tell but it gives me the \'no such player\' type message.  I try local chat but get no response.  Next re-spawn I try again, all the same except I see an emote in the chat window saying \"Wengull frowns\".  At this point I was thinking maybe a bored GM was having some fun or something and decided to move on.

I move to another Gladiator in the same hall and after killing it a few times I notice Wengull training on the other Gladiator.  I\'m guessing s/he was there the whole time, though maybe the server weirdness made it such I couldn\'t see Wengull before.  About this time the Gladiator I\'m training on disappears right after I start an attack.  I decide that maybe it\'s a good idea to get away but only get a few steps and then a message saying I\'m dead (no being attacked messages or a death message in the chat window).  From DR I still couldn\'t send a tell to Wengull so obviously something wacky was going on.  The issue never re-appeared, as far as I know anyway, so not sure if this was a client or server or both type issue.

So anyway my apologies to Wengull, I had no intentions of being unfriendly. Hope you understand.  :]  :]

Indeed there have been issues with dissapearing NPC.
Also, as stated, this happens to players.
I\'ve experienced something similar, still seing the player, not being able to recieve chat messages or system ones, even the guild ones seem not to work. I had the hope that Tells could be used and functional, but, from the first post it seems that tell is also affected.
Reloading the client always lead to a solution, but I couldn\'t find a reason for that \"muting\" of players actions.
Are there any MoonSeekers left?

This seems to be related to the \"things happening out of sequence\" problem we have been having for a little while now.  See this thread for more information (but no solution at this time).

it was a big glitch, gobbles were riding on rats in the arena and every thing, also the stealth people are annoying

Happened to me in an odd way: both my son and I play on a LAN where we can each see the other\'s monitor.  I became invisible to him - couldn\'t chat with him - couldn\'t get his chat.  Some other players could see me.  Some couldn\'t.

So I did the only thing I could - I became the ghost of his dead father...  :)
