Which NPC quests are working?
« on: September 20, 2005, 09:46:14 pm »
Hello all,

I have tried some (NPC) quests now, but most of them are not working yet. Some of these I worked on for some time before I got to know (or heard) that it is not working yet, which was sometimes a bit frustrating...

Therefore, I would like to make a list of the quests that are and are not finished yet, and would like others to add to this list. I will only mention a name for the quests; I will not tell where I have gotten them, nor how you can solve them, so that I do not give anything away about them that could spoil the fun for others. Anyone who will add a quest to the list should also bear this in mind.

I would just like to make this a list that, when you get a quest, you can check this if the quest is actually working (and thus worth trying to complete), but will not help you get/solve quests in any way. But if a moderator does think that this thread (will) contain give away\'s or anything else that might spoil other players\' fun or is in any other way unwanted, please just delete this thread.

Quests that are working:
- Gold ore quest
- Get a bag
- Get a broadsword
- Rat extermination
- Lamp oil quest (works if you give the NPC only trias, not hexas or octas)

Quests that are not working yet:
- Identification of Ancient BattleAxe
- Get Tefusang teeth
- Retrieve a script
- Find a cure for a sick creature
- Second gold ore quest

Edited: put the rat extermination quest in the working quests list, and added the second mining quest and the lantern quest to the unknown quests list

2nd edit: put the lamp oil quest in the working quest list and the others in the list with quests that are confirmed to be not working

The rat extermination quest is working.  In fact, it can be completed multiple times (which may or may not be a bug in itself).

in fact there are two mining-quests, of which one is working and one won\'t finish. i think it is impossible to make it more clear without a spoiler, so find out for yourself ;)

There\'s also the lantern quest, which I couldn\'t solve.  I didn\'t know there was a second mining quest.

I tried again today and the rat extermination quest is indeed working, I must have done something wrong the first time... thanks for telling me :-)

But what about the other quests, the retrieval of the script and finding a cure for a certain sick creature? Could anyone confirm if these are or are not working?

A second mining quest and a lantern quest? Sound interesting :-) I will search for those and other quests...

- Find a cure for a sick creature
As a note, at one point in that quest you need to give someone money...they ask for some tria, and you need to give them actual tria, not the equivelent amount of hexas or octas.  By giving them tria it will say the trade is complete (and the money is gone)...but it never actually gave me the item. >:|

Maybe someone can double check this one?

No, that\'s what happened when I did the quest as well.  I did it twice, and both times the same thing happened.

Try giving the ancient great axe to the dwarven smithy in akkaio.

Rage McCloud and zanzibar, please do not post spoilers in this thread: so nothing about where you can get quests, and nothing about what the purpose of a quest is or how you can solve it...

What I said did nothing to help him solve it.  When you get the quest, it is clearly stated that the smithy in either Hydlaa or Akkaio might know something about the weapon.  He tried the smithy in Hydlaa to no avail, therefore he should try the one in Akkaio.

Ok, a GM (Cereja) told me that the Lamp Oil quest is in fact working, if you give a certain NPC only trias, not hexas or octas. I tried it and it did indeed work :-) Furthermore she told me that there are 5 working quests at the moment, so the others are not working.
