Environment Tools

I am wondering if the team has released any environment developement tools, specifically like Worldcraft or Qoole, so the members might be able to pitch in a bit?

In the past I have made my share of maps for several of the Quake themes and wouldn\'t mind pitching in a bit, I need a hobby!

We don\'t have any tools like that yet since we cannot hope to write anything like Maya or Blender yet.  That said we can take maps for several different sources and convert them to work with CS.

You wouldn\'t happen to have a list of file types you are able to convert would you?

....so i don\'t get brushed up for nothing....

p.s. I am not looking to do character modeling or motion work, just world renedering....

what was used for the majority of world rendering thus far?

Hmm, from what I read it\'s only Quake maps so far:

A good starting point for understanding CS is their website/guide/wiki. I found this page there:

I doesn\'t specify anything else for building enviroments, but I believe you can create pretty much anything from anywheres and get it into a format that can be used. The maps in planeshift were created in Max. From what I hear on IRC, support for blender is getting better all the time, so you could try that.
