stage for the performing arts
« on: September 30, 2005, 06:21:03 pm »
I see these events being made in the tavern, for instance friday the 30th, there is a storytelling and comedy event occuring and i got to thinking. Wouldnt it be nice if kada els had a stage to perform on. Also maybe a theatre would be a nice addition.

A great way to learn about these events could be posters on the side of kada el or in the plaza some where, that have editable text, where people can announce such events, and people can read them.

i think thats a pretty good idea but i doubt the posters would work maybe if it was combined with the town cryer idea it might be better and most of the plays would prolly just be standup or something since not much movement can be shown but anyway i like the idea and it will bring even more realism to the game =]

I think posters are a good idea too and I even used those to advertise for the Hydlaa Festival. Unfortunately, the only way for someone to see them is to download the replacement textures, and install them.  This either requires a light script to install or someone who likes to muck about in zip files.  The problem is that they can\'t be temporarily put into the art repository for people to get when updateing, because the team is too busy to support something like that.

I have always thought that a solution to that problem would be for someone who wanted to spend the time, to be an offical RP sponsor with access to the art files on the update server.  They could update art with posters and the like, which would enhance the RP feel of the realm.  But I hightly doubt that this would be allowed, though who knows?

As for a theater I have one made, it is awaiting textures now, but I won\'t release any more shots as that would lessen its chances of making it ingame.  Not that it has much shot anyways.
