Hello everyone

I\'m just getting this game today and wanted to say hi!  I\'m glad I could finally find an mmorpg with people speaking english!!

Along with a throw of confetti, I\'d like to offer a few suggestions: make sure to familiarize yourself with the stickied threads in various sections of the forum here, to be aware of many rules of conduct, FAQs, and information about bugs and errors. Be sure to update the game before logging in, and have the latest drivers for your graphics card, just in case. Try to search before posting new threads, either for suggestions or bug reports, and beyond that, have fun! ;)

lol i just got this also..

i\'ve read all of the stuff.. :D  i\'m psyched.

but.. i\'ll be up front since i can\'t see it on the actual page right now..

how is the magic system?  i\'m big on spellcasters in games and i\'d like to know.. :D

also.. i\'m updating it as we speak.. it\'s been going for about an hour now.. it\'s only at 5% lol.. is there really that much content..?

Concerning updating: have you taken a look at this thread? READ THIS if updater is taking long time! The updater is a bit iffy at the moment, but it will do its job if you let it sit for a few hours. Unfortunately this is the current time requirement.

The combat system is rather unbalanced, as well. A random loot item generator is in testing, and it has been throwing out powerful little sharp things that pretty much render magic useless. It\'s a known issue and will be adjusted in time :) However, it doesn\'t mean that magic is entirely useless - it still functions and deals decent damage, if you\'re using the offensive. It\'s just that in a duel with other characters, a mage isn\'t likely to survive at the moment.

But remember, PlaneShift is still a pre-alpha tech demo :D We\'re all testing things out.

but it\'s better than it was!  at least i\'m at 31% now haha.

Eheheh, I know the feeling :) I\'m updating myself as we speak. Luckily I have other things to do, however, to distract myself.

Right now would actually be a good time to familiarize yourself more with the game in general. If I may recommend a few stickied threads to take a look at:

A short but helpful FAQ
Character Naming Policy - Must Read!
A Guide to Role-Playing
How to Report In-Game Abuse
On Guilds and their creation
Guide to 2D/3D Contribution
