mouselook not working
« on: October 02, 2005, 08:36:36 pm »
I\'ve just installed PlaneShift from the planeshift downloads binary.
I\'m running Gentoo amd64. (ebuild for Crystalspace failed to compile)

In the game, mouselook isn\'t working.
holding down mouse button 3 has no effect.
pressing tab has no effect
pressing and holding tab has only the effect of making the mouse pointer disappear.

I find moving around a 3d environment without mouselook very clumsy.

At the moment, i\'m trying install from the script in this forum (compiling from CVS) and trying to work out how to get the crystalspace ebuild working, but i have no idea whether they will fix the mouselook  problem.

Should mouselook be working for me?
Any clues on how i can get it working?

The bianries usualy lag behind CVS a bit. Mouselook was previously removed by mistake in the version in the bianries. It has been restored in CVS. So if you use either Xordan\'s installer which is newer, or compile yourself you will get back mouselook.

I finally got the gentoo ebuild built, with the patch in gentoo bugs.

No mouselook there, and the big circles are too huge, dominating the screen.
Also, things went black after leaving and returning.

Trying from the easy_planeshift script, and Xordan\'s installer.

None seem to work properly.
Too many hours spent fiddling. Too many times downloading too much too slowly.

I\'ll go back to using ebuilds, and wait for it to work.

I can confirm the Problem on Gentoo x32 system.
I used the ebuild with the gentoospecific patch from here

This should be a soure installation.

When pressing tab the mousepointer disapears, but you can see while moving it around that windows get the fokus when the mouse hover over it.

There is no debug output as far as I can see.
